Yup. McLaren are trying to get the 2015 car ready for the end of year test. So they can get some miles on the Honda engine.

They weren't sure if it was possible earlier in the year, sounds like Ron lit a few fires under some people.

I thought there was an article recently where they confirmed the 2015 chassis wouldn't run until the 2nd pre season test next year, and they would run a hybrid 2014 chassis with Honda engine in the 1st test and the post year test?

What I heard also, a hybrid of this years car with Honda in the back and the new car for the second test next year. Might have even been Ron who said it.

I'd seriously doubt a 2015 car would be ready by November either. Usually the first test chassis doesn't come out the autoclave until January.

Yeah, but we can't have any of that in the alleged pinnacle of motorsport can we? I mean, who in their right mind would pay to watch the most technologically-advanced racing cars in the world? And what self-respecting manufacturer or company would want to be associated with such an idea? It's laughable.

So Lotus are going to be running Merc engines next year then. Lots of Merc engines in the field. Will Renault just abandon the sport?

If Caterham survives they will still have 3 teams running Renault engines, same as Ferrari.

Spoilt for choice with motor sport this weekend, not sure how I'm going to fit it all in. Good job Motors has moved onto proper freeview rather than the Arqiva streamed service as at least I'll be able to record some of it. By my reckoning I've got the following available to me all on FTA:

NASCAR nationwide
Bathurst
WEC
BTCC
F1

A weekend on the sofa beckons...

Is that also your priority order? Because F1 seems to be at a dull and boring track.

It was closer to "The order in which things are on Motors, Followed by the stuff on the other channels"

Most F1 races are pretty dull, the circuit won't make much difference but I'll still watch it just because its F1.
