1:43 models are always awful. They are just far to small to get proper detail on, and are usually comically expensive. 1:18 is the way to go.

How good are the 1:18
Really want Nigels, Lewis and Jensons championship car and I see minichamps are doing a new world championships series.
Edit - oh they're 1:48

They don't appear to do Lewis Hamilton 2008 at all. :(

They have a massive sale each year. Can't wait to see the new Honda branding :)

Yep, what colour will it be.

Most are resin cast now rather than metal, especially the F1 cars with their intricate designs.

I tend to only get models as gifts now as they are often well over £100. The Bentley is AUTOart which are great quality. The Brawn and McLaren are Minichamps and pretty good. The Aston is Norev which is also decent. My dad and sisters have a large collection back home including F1, WRC and historic rally cars.

The 1:4 scale helmets are pretty cool too. But they were 40 quid new, and a lot of places want double that now tthey have become popular.

There must be a lot of pressure on the McLaren design department. Fans are expecting the return of McLaren-Honda to mean an epic livery.

DiCe! should be able to at least give us some hints soon? ;)

I'm sure Honda's had plenty of time to pick the best design and try to implement it here if they felt it was better. It might not even be the design on the testbed to hide any philosophy from their competitors.

Anyway, Adrian Newey himself said the Renault engine had masses of potential, but it couldn't be realised yet (this was back in testing I think). He might have just be toeing the team line, but we'll soon enough know if Renault's 2015 effort is completely different and basically copying the Mercedes layout. Renault certainly seem closer now than they were and that's under homologation.

Better pic, beauty!

I watched the 2005 Japanese Grand Prix last night, and it was interesting to hear James Allen saying that Honda were pumping millions into their racing team in a bid to make Jenson Button Champion within the next four years... well that happened, although obviously rather indirectly.

Hopefully Honda will remember that they have unfinished business then. :)

Press conference line-ups:
Thursday: Jules Bianchi (Marussia), Jenson Button (McLaren), Romain Grosjean (Lotus), Nico Hulkenberg (Force India), Kamui Kobayashi (Caterham), Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull).

Friday: Yasuhisa Arai (Honda), Andy Cowell (Mercedes), Pat Fry (Ferrari), Paul Monaghan (Red Bull), Jonathan Neale (McLaren), Remi Taffin (Renault F1).

I imagine that something was lost in the translation. I'm sure that Honda didn't aim to make JB champion, rather they aimed to win the WDC and James Allen tailored his comments for a UK audience. Especially given the nationality of the other BAR driver, Takuma Sato...

Sato had close lined Trulli out of the race and Button was running in 2nd place at the time he said it, so maybe a bit of that and also driver talent :)

Question is, what for? Do you pay the big bills and leave the small guys only a 'few' thousand out of pocket or pay everyone a bit? Could be a very minor creditor not paid for only a small amount. Or could be someone owed hundreds of thousands.

Caterham F1 Team statement

2 October 2014

There have been unfounded and unsubstantiated rumours concerning actions against 1MRT, the entrant and owner of CaterhamF1.

An action was threatened yesterday against a supplier company to 1MRT. This company is not owned by 1MRT and it has no influence over the entry of CaterhamF1 or the entrant.

Also contrary to uncontrolled rumours, all operations are currently in place at Leafield and the race team is doing its preparation in Japan.
