Wouldn't make sense on paper, performance wise, to move to Ferrari unless it is something he wants to do before retirement or if he knows RB have someone else lined up.

What about Kimi? Does he still have links to Red Bull?... Not sure what kind of contract he will be on butcan't see him having signed a real long one at Lotus.

Wow. I know it was mentioned as a rumour before the Bahrain GP, but I never thought it would actually happen.

Just... wow. What are Chelsea hoping to gain? More global supporters and resulting merchandise sales? Or are one of the Sauber top bods involved with Chelsea?

But its not really Chelsea sponsoring Sauber is it, its the rich owner of Chelsea (Abramovich) sponsoring Sauber. Not really any different to Caterham running Air Asia sponsorship or Force India running Kingfisher. Its just rich individuals investing in multiple brands or companies and then cross marketing them. When you look at it that way its not really that odd.

Things have gone the other way loads (car manufacturers sponsoring football clubs), and there was Superleague Formula, and then the Newcastle sponsored Lister Storm from the 90's.

I expect the details are that Abramovich has invested in Sauber and used Chelsea as the branding.

Good news for Sauber though.

Fair point, but what I don't understand is why they've used the Chelsea brand? It's not like they have a product to push, or can't get awareness elsewhere. Unless maybe they're planning to ship a load of West Londoners to GPs to start some chants about who's not singing anymore.

My favourite car from GTR, asesome noise :D

Agreed. It'll be good for them to have a stable backer again. Although I can see them sliding a little if James Key does go to Ferrari.

Mark Webber has denied signing with the Ferrari team for 2013.

Spanish media reports, indicating that a letter of intent may already have been written, said Fernando Alonso favours Australian Webber to replace the struggling Felipe Massa.

The reports also said Webber, 35 and with an expiring Red Bull contract, could be signed for a single season ahead of Sergio Perez joining in 2014.

“Sergio was flavour of the month last week for the Ferrari drive; now it’s me,” Webber said at the Mugello test on Tuesday.

“I’m focusing 100 per cent on this season and doing the best job for myself and Red Bull Racing. I’m not putting any energy into anything else.”

Italian-language reporters also quote Webber as saying: “There’s a whole season ahead of us before we need to think about the future.

“One day the talk is about Jenson (Button joining Ferrari), then it’s Sergio, now it’s me. I haven’t signed anything.”

“My focus is on this team (Red Bull); we’ve had a good start to the season, we’re only four races down and the road is very, very, very long before we start talking about the future.”

As for the closely-contested 2012 championship, Webber added: “The grid is very close together.

“Sebastian (Vettel) had a weekend without problems in Bahrain and won but he didn’t dominate, and that’s the same for everyone.

“No one will be dominant in the first half of the season, so to be third at the start of the European season is not bad,” he said.
