Seriously though I'm wondering why Button is saying this... he's being widely tipped by various journalists to be leaving Mclaren who insist that they'll retain Magnusson instead so to say something like that about Alonso wouldn't seem like a good idea unless he knew he had a seat with Mclaren next year.
What has he said?
Well just that front cover, "Alonso doesn't scare me" kinda implies that Button thinks he'll be getting the seat over Kev. Comes across as a bit arrogant in that sense, but Button's not an arrogant person so either he knows something we don't or it could be meant to say "if i do get the seat alonso doesn't scare me"... probably me just reading too much into it tho![]()
Maybe the mag mentioned Alonso and the incoming Halloween festival to JB in the same sentence.![]()
Yup, it'll have nothing to do with the seat.
AS: Does Alonso worry you on track?
Button: Alonso doesn't scare me
AS: Do you not think he is the fastest driver on the track?
Button: He is not as quick as Lewis
Would agree with Button, Hamilton is the best driver on that grid. People forget the dogs he has brought to the podium. Yes Alonso has done it a few times, mainly with luck, but to me Hamilton is the top driver.
Hamilton = Race winner
Alonso = Consistent
Would love and pay to see Hamilton and Alonso go head to head in the same car though. Forget 2007.
He said over one lap not over race distance. Alonso is head and shoulders above Hamilton in my opinion and anyone else that's sat in an F1 car since senna. I think it would be closer over one lap too, especially when you consider how rosberg has done against him this year. Without Ron to protect him and in a team where they could go at each other like they can at Mercedes I think it would be one sided and Hamilton would go into meltdown woe is me mode again. Alonso is x times smarter. If it's all going his way Hamilton is mighty but it's so easy to throw him off his game.
I nipped into the local spar and read that article.
Headline grabber. He doesn't actually say that.
Just 18 cars on the grid next weekend (and presumably Brazil as can't imagine they'll turn up just a week later) then.

Lowest since BAR were banned from a couple of races in 2005.
