Her and Lombardi seem to be regularly forgotten by anyone trying to big up people like Susie Wolff as being "the first female F1 drivers".

Lombardi even scored points I think.

You're not trying to tell me women in cars were invented before Danica Patrick?!? I thought she was the first person with boobs to ever get in a racing car :p

Yeah Lombardi got half a point in a Grand Prix.

Hamilton says he expects more Merc dominance in 2016.... great. Can you imagine how many people will exodus themselves from the Sport if that happens? Zzz

Unless the confusing as hell tyre rule change confuses Mercedes as much as me, why would things radically change results wise for Mercedes in 2016? ;)

The development route Merc has choosen may not allow them to develop to the degree their rivals may be able to. At the start of the season I'd expect them to be out in front but Ferrari might catch up by the mid season break :)

The same amount that left when Vettel dominated, or Alonso, or Schumacher, or Williams, or McLaren, or Lotus... Etc.

Dominance doesn't really bother me - in fact, Mercedes could win every race and I wouldn't mind as long as there was action further down the field and the cars looked and sounded exciting.

While Ferrari might win more races than in 2015, they've had a problem getting all of the tyres to work consistently, and to some degree have for years now (was it Barcelona in 2011 where Alonso held his own until they switched to the harder tyre and he ended up getting lapped?). They worked well in hot and humid races last year, but fell away in most others - in a few other races where they expected to mount a challenge (eg Vettel Abu Dhabi) they cocked up in other ways.

If they sort out their 'peakiness' they might be able to mount a proper title bid, but it's hard to see past Mercedes, irrespective of whether you believe the Haas windtunnel stories or not.

Pretty sure I read that Ferrari were going back to pushrod on front suspension (think it's that way around - back to what nearly all teams use), so this might help too on tyres.

I'm not sure this is accurate. The 2016 sponsorship was reported as being paid last summer. Still, you won't see me complaining if he loses his seat!

I agree, Magnussen did enough (imo) in that one season to prove he's got talent and is a viable F1 driver, it's a shame that the situation today means he only got the single season and potentially may never drive in F1 again.

Need the 'old' ones to start retiring already :p

I'd much rather see Magnusson get his seat.

I can see with the falling oil price PDVSA might find it hard to justify the payment.

I though they paid in arrears rather than in advance.

Nope, in advance, Maldonado is paid up for through 2016 and he had a contract for 3 years anyway. Renault might be looking to sign him but not for this season, next season maybe. Most likely seat for him this year would be Manor but they can probably find a better pay driver(as in, better for them because someone can pay more for the seat... worse actual driver).
