Motorsport Off Topic Thread

According to what has been officially stated there will be no details released on the allegations or the investigation report. So the above in post #16,710 is complete fabrication.

Just because it doesn't come from the official statement doesn't make it a "complete fabrication". There are other sources.

Well I called it. As soon as there was a decision made and no action taken immediately, it was fairly obvious.

I’m in a pessimistic mood so I’m thinking all signs point towards him staying. There will be some minor admittance of “something” he did but as stated above they’ll use the start of the season to sweep it up.

And let's see about the below.
If anyone dares mention it after the race then RB will be into full aggressive victim mode.

I imagine if they felt there was a high % chance of the allegations being proved true, that they wouldn't take the risk of giving him air time, going to the launch etc. After all, it's a company focussed entirely around the brand name.

Common sense prevails, so obvious.

Glad it's been sorted out before the season starts, felt like it might roll over for another few weeks with the lawyer being on 'holiday'

First I've heard of those accusations?

There’s always someone on the net trying to claim he’s an awful person because a mate of a mate said so or whatever.

The point about Hamilton “virtue signaling again” raises some alarm bells as well especially as Hamiltons statement was pretty standard stuff.

They of course would then need to be proven as legitimate, instead of internet tittle tattle gossip.
Yet some like there myths to be true, as also demonstrated within this thread who seem to be unable to accept Horner was and has been found innocent by a thorough and independent investigation.

Time for all to move on...

As expected, once he was at the official car release and attended the testing it was unlikely he'd be sacked, though I still thought it was about 55% staying 45% sacked till the announcement.

Think I'm gonna avoid this thread for a while seeing all the CT comments already.

None of us know how independent and thorough the investigation was. None of us know how categoric the conclusions of the investigation were. None of us know what the journalist's sources are. None of us know what actually happened. Any use of categoric language whether claiming that allegations are "completely unfounded" or that "[the] hush money has been increased" is out of place.

I agree. Unless there's something new on this, I hope this is the last we'll hear about it (but in F1, we both know that's a forlorn hope).

Did you read my post? Or did you just disagree as that appears to be your default on most things.

Presumably Mr.Horner will be suing the accuser in the near future…

You mean I don't just accept nonsense reports and run wild with my imagination like you and have so far based my opinion on facts. Well in that case I'm glad I'm not like you.

Guilty until proven innocent right?
