Mountain Biking

I can't stand the yellow but the stickers are underneath a lacquer so I cannot remove them! I have thought about getting some black vinyl to cover the frame but I haven't got the skills/patience/competence.

I've not been wakerly for years. It was good around 3 years ago but suffers so bad with weather. The start straight off the road was fun, quite tight, twisty and rooty. Bet its changed loads since!

When you went to Wakerley it would have been a Red route. It has now changed to a Blue route which is very fast and fun, but it does lack the technical challenge of a Red. However, there are still the old Red route tracks which branch off in places which are notoriously boggy in Winter. Over the road at Fineshade has some good technical tracks off the main areas.

Not a big fan of destickered Pikes.

Would look better colour coordinated. Let me know if you get hold of Slik, I've given up trying to get a response.

Wanting to try and get into mountain biking as a fun form of fitness. I ride my Hybrid/ road focussed boardman in the summer a bit but fancy riding some of the trails around here year round had a look in decathlon Today and saw this bike https://www.decathlon.co.uk/rockrider-520-mountain-bike-id_8293188.html

Looked like a good bike and I would have bought one but the guy said I need an XL frame as I am 6'2" and the largest they had was Large.

So I've come home been looking at used bikes on Gumtree etc.

Could someone point me in the right direction as there are loads of wheel sizes and gears etc and I haven't got a clue what I would be looking at.

I'm kind of in the same position as you. Wanting to get into MTB so looking for an entry level hardtail for £400ish.

I also went into decathlon and checked our their BTwin bikes and they do look good for the money, and seem to have decent reviews. The other options are the calibre bikes at Go Outdoors, the calibre two. Two. is very highly reviewed and around 400ish.

Halfords also have some decent ones, like the Carrera Kraken or Vulcan and the voodoo bikes too.

I kind of want a 29er but not sure I'll find a decent one for £400ish. Eyeing up this :

The Voodoo Bizango is an excellent bike for the money if you can push your budget up a notch.
I'd be inclined to also most definitely be looking at the second hand mark for aroud the £400 mark.

What you getting now Knifey?

Thought about second hand, but I'd much rather a new one. I don't know what I'm looking for in a used bike, and after checking out lots of for sale places I couldn't find much at all.

Can't really stretch another 200 for the bizango unfortunately!

I'm also looking at the the rockrider 560.

where are you in the country? Might be someone local to lend a helping hand for 2nd Hand bikes!

Find some and post some up, plenty of people here in the know! ;)

Thinking of a hans damf 2.35 front tyre for me mega. I want a bigger grippier tyre for uplift days. In trailstar flavour it should be grippier than my high loller 2 2.3 exo 60a? If not maybe a magic mary in trailstar or super duper vertstar?
