Mountain Biking

That won't 'bed' your pads in. You need to ride the bike so the pads get hot and deposit a residue on the discs that hardens when they cool, this is what makes them perform how they should.

Never bed in pads either, just ride like normal and then figure out the rest when I come to crash as they aren't working properly yet :p Only usually takes a ride home from work.

I really cannot fathom why you'd want the complexity of Di2 on a mountain bike. I'm too busy holding on for dear life to worry about how smooth my shifts are.

Recently I've found I use two gears, the rest just seem to be there for show. Mind you out here it's either steep as hell up, or steep as hell down with the occisional flat you need to pedal through.

Seems like sram are bringing out a 12 speed, x01 Eagle. 50t-10t! Nothing 'official' but few photos floating around.

Price is going to be LOL

Hey chaps, looking for abit of advice. Dipping my toes into MTB and bought a Carrera Vulcan to get started, based on What Mountain Bike magazine's recommendations on entry level bikes. I had to take the wheel off to fit it in the boot and when I put it back on the front disc brake is rubbing.

I did some digging and read how if the lever is accidentally compressed with the wheel off it can cause issues with rubbing, whats the best way of rectifying this. I read something about pushing the pistons back in with a screwdriver?

Cheers!

Do not use a screwdriver. Got some hard and plastic like a tyre lever if you have one and push them back in that way.
Should only move a mm or two, put the wheel back in, pump the lever a few times to reseat the pistons correctly.

I started building the new boardman bikes today. The most of the MTB range is running 1x11. It's rather tasty! Think I might get myself the MTB 29er as my MTB as I struggle to keep up with the guys I ride with on 29ers until we get to to the trails and me and the FS say goodbye :D

New Boardman bikes? Here was me thinking they'd stopped doing Mountain bikes - there is nothing on their website any more.

Good to hear, I was concerned from a warranty/support perspective :)
