Mountain Biking

Thanks guys.

I thinks it's going to be Coed-y-Brenin first, take it from there - I'm with the family so I'll probably only be able to sneak two rides in over the week.

Went to do a bit if work on my new fsr and found one of the tyres deflated.
Pullled out the tube, pumped it up and did the usual checking under water.. could I find a hole? I checked the valve too, squeezed it hard an no air would come out anywhere?

Stuck it back in, pumped it up and it held pressure fine..

Must be the slowest puncture ever if there actually is one?!

I went to Swinley today for the first time, it was abrasive to say the least, bottom bracket sounds horrific.

Going to give it a good clean, hopefully that'll resolve it, but if not is this an appropriate replacement part:

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/sram-pressfit-30-alloy-bottom-bracket/rp-prod51600

the part that may need replacing is a "Press Fit-30"

Is it difficult to fit, any special tools required?

Thanks for any advice.

I have a fitness question, wonder if any of you guys are sufficiently clued up to help.

I'm 44 and 73 kilos - completely average fitness I guess for my age and only been biking for 18 months (bmx'er as a kid). Bought a HR monitor - everything is OK - on really brutal climbs I can see HR hit like 168/169 generally - seen 171 once - never ever felt uncomfortable though - always felt pretty strong even at very close to my Max HR.

Question is - my average HR seems high - even on the flat my HR is like 145. It feels like it would be 130 bloody walking. :(

Internet is saying I need to train at 80% of MHR to improve my anaerobic fitness.

Is this right?

/edit - forgot to add - my resting HR is 65 ish - no problem there.

You'll need a shop to fit a pressfit bb. Even a correctly fitted press bb can be creaky, they are terrible pieces of ****! Shimano have got it right with hollowtech 2

How'd the racing go knifey?

Had 19th in masters and 81st over all. Was happy with my two runs and rode quite within myself. Obviously looking back I could have pushed a bit harder but didnt want to crash. I went quicker on my second run with a mistake I made up top where I slid out on a bomb hole jump and landed in the bog to the right of the track which is annoying but hey ho thats racing. Pleased with my result for first race back! :D

Seems fine generally - resting HR is good, I top out around 170 on my road bike/turbo etc. Don't worry about it.

New Boardman bikes? Here was me thinking they'd stopped doing Mountain bikes - there is nothing on their website any more.

Good to hear, I was concerned from a warranty/support perspective :)

Was worried about this also. Just noticed this morning that they're back on the website! New bikes look nice.

Have a Pro 29er and love it but think i need a FS ideally for the trails i like riding.
