Mountain Biking

Anyone been to Quantock hills? What's the riding like?

There's some really good stuff, but following an MBR GPS route was hard for me and a mate. Maybe we suck at navigation. Some earning of your descents to be done too, aka climbs to make you suffer. I'd definitely like to ride there with someone who knew where to go.

Found a good deal on magnesium dmr vaults. £57 a pair.

I think I'm going to give Long Mynd a whirl Friday 18th, subject to the weather, going to take the bike to work then nip off at lunchtime and spend the afternoon up there, seems to get rave reviews.

I've done my research (spent most of my working day watching youtube videos in a very small window :D ) and I'm sooooo looking forward to it:

100% natural
Rocky open single track
Rocky tight single track
Fast flowing single track
Very fast grassed hillside

What's not to like?

I'm completely billy no mates when it come to MTB'ing - so anyone fancy it just shout!

Is anyone doing the Chalky Chaser with Wiggle on here?

Did both trails at Cwmcarn on Sunday, ****ing hell that was hard to smash through one after the other. The bike still feels like it's got so much more to offer than I can get out of it.

I have been to long mynd a few times and I love it there. Have a look at my ride I did last time and the final descent at the end of the ride is really worth doing. I did it so slowly but it was good fun still, nice and steep coming back into the car park.

Actually I also recommend the first big descent I did. :p That one is nice and quick but narrow.

Its not massive distance but it is hard to do with loops up there mate so good effort! I struggle as well!

Hi All,

Looking at getting myself a new bike have around £2000 to spend but ideally would like to spend less if possible!

Been looking at the canyon range quite like the Spectral AL 6.0 seems like quite a good bike for the money. Can anyone with some experience in this shred some light as to how good they are?? or recommend a bike for that price range? Looking to do all mounting really so a bit of everything from trails to small/medium jumps nothing to severe!

Thanks!

I think they're ace, Canyons in general for the VFM it's amazing. I have a Spectral CF 9.0 LTD and Grand Canyon 9.9 SLX LTD, they're amazing bikes. Utterly fantastic. If you can get one that's in stock too, they turn them around pretty quickly, otherwise you will have a put up with the wait and their ordering system is shocking, but hey. Price to pay for great spec bike.

I've still got my 2011 Canyon Nerve AM and I've been very happy with it. I'm considering going for a Spectral or Strive next, (or maybe as well as if I decide on the Strive). Amazing bikes!
