Mountain Biking

Flights booked to Morzine :)

End of August though, and only 5 days! But it's better than nothing. Still mega nervous about taking my bike, the airline rules are quite vague.

Rode the new trail at BPW today called Hot Stepper. Works pretty well and should get better the more it's bedded in, few tight trees to look out for but enjoyable! :)

Spent all day yesterday doing this to my bike, she's now a lovly shade of satin black, instead of the beat up chipped and scraped green. only a temporary measure, will be going in for full chemical strip and powder coat when i go away for a month in may

What a days riding, up at 6am, with sun blazing in the window and blue skys, out the door for 7am, first headed to Forfar Quarry, never been before but when we got there we were grinning ear to ear, so many lines huge jumps and gaps, everything flowed so well, still buzzing from it!!!
after a couple of hours we headed over to the sidlaws, and old faithful DH spot, which has recently seen a fair bit of work put in by the locals, and its running very well at the moment, and then we moved over to Kinoull hill(Deuchny woods) for the final blast of the day, after another couple of hours riding it was time to call it quits, now sitting at my computer with a beer i can barely raise to my mouth and doing a nodding dog impression, I'm beat absolutely well and truely beat, on of the best days riding i've had in a long time.

Damn the gambler looks like a brand new beast! Everyones bikes black lately but it doesnt get old or boring for me!

I booked bike park wales for tomorrow around 3 month ago and its supposed to be pooping it down all day today and tomorrow there :-(

Cheers lads! Only went with satin black as i had a few cans left over from another job.
Begbie, i'm not 100% sure yet, but i want something different, something bright punchy and in your face but not tacky at the same time, got a few ideas running in my head that i'll think over, not in any rush, dont want to pick something and end up hating it after a few weeks.

I have considered it, but may opt not too purely for the fact im finding it almost impossible to find a custom decal kit for it, and Scott dont sell replacement kits... according to their FAQ due to copyright issues???

As for colour I'm leaning towards one of these

Matte Fluro Yellow

Or Mettalic/Candy Lime green

Either full framein said colour with black linkage, or front coloured/rear black (visa versa)?
I dunno, when i decide what company to go with i'll chat with them and have a look at colour swatchs first.

Nah just Blade. Didn't have time to do anything else :( Would have done W2 if I had got there earlier.

That would have been cool. I'll be there many more times over the summer :)

Any one bought a Commencal lately. Little cousin is looking at one of the hardtails. Bike active sell them, though seem to be pricier than buying direct.

I presume warranty is easier buying from Bike Active? Anyone had any success getting them to price match?

Or any ideas of anything better about £8-900?

I bought a Meta AM direct around Christmas time. The process was great, ordered online and the bike arrived a couple of days later.

Not had any warranty issues mind, so can't comment on that side of things.

Hit up bike park wales earlier. The weather report was extremely bad all week for Sunday, even forecast thunder storms! When I set out this morning (at around 6:30am) it was dryish in Leicester but as soon as I got near Gloucester then Wales it was non stop pooping it down! Then when I got to the UK's bum hole (merthyr tydfil) it wasn't raining! The track was a puddle fest but least it wasn't raining :) .

Managed to get 7 or 8 runs in the morning then couldn't be bothered after lunch as my feet were numb and my back brake decided to die around 4 runs in which pee'd me off royal as I'd just bled the damn thing! Turns out the pads were worn to the springs :D

So unfit though, I done terry's belly first and was absolutely shattered. Could have quite easily gone home after that! I'm in a new job where I literally just sit in a digger for like 9-10 hours a day so managed to put on around 12kg in a year. Gonna try and get back down to around 90kg and i'll be happy.

I so need to get BPW under my belt!

Lol, I've been thinking of how I'm gonna get under 70 kilos without giving up biscuits and choc. :p
