Mountain Biking

Everyone would love to see Peaty win a race, but sadly I can't see it. He struggled for points pre-season I think?

Claudio incoming :D

First manic slog out in Woburn last night on the PP Shan. Just wow, what a bike. Pretty please with the NN PaceStar tyres. I couldn't get the rear to blow tubeless onto the rim. I'll try again at the weekend. Front went on fine.

Great rides up in Woburn and the Shan ate up every single part of it without any complaints.

Has anyone had a Sram XD driver/DT Swiss freehub fall apart/off on them?
I was just replacing my rear tyre and bouncing it around on the kitchen floor to get the sealant around on the inside and the cassette fell off. And by fell off, I mean just came off - exposing the inside of the freehub gubbins, which didn't seem right.

After much panicking and swearing about my ruined outing at the weekend I got in touch with Ben from Bird and he told me it's normal and meant to do that for ease of servicing.

I trust him and all - went back together fine and can't see it just falling apart when it's on the bike itself... but it was a shock.

IIRC there meant to just 'Pull' off. I wouldn't expect them to just fall off though! I'd expect quite a vigorous tug.

Well, it hit the floor a bit (flat) because I have no motor skills/co-ordination and/or can't catch. Then it fell off.
;)

Which Shan do you have Django? Having ridden my mates new Shan 27 I'm tempted to chop the 26" Shan in for a new 27.5 one

650b. It's the best bike I've ever owned, and that's a few, admittedly mostly Orange Crush, which whilst not massively different in geometry, the difference in ride is night and day.

Spent a bit making it right, good rims / hubs and groupset with the DVO Fork. It picks up incredibly well, the acceleration is sublime and so sure footed.

My advice? What are you waiting for. You can still use 26 on the 650b frame too, they provide the dropout adapters.

Well, my Monarch Plus is knackered... :(

Sent it to TF Tuned for a service, and the guy there said there's some damage to the main rod (I think) which looks like it's probably been there since manufacture, so they're sending it on to SRAM for hopefully repair or replacement.

Anyone ever had warranty dealings with SRAM? Are they decent? Am I likely to be bike-less for a couple of months or what?

Wish someone would buy my DH bike, then I could at least justify getting a half-decent temporary hardtail or something!

I sent my rear shock, reverb and forks to SRAM on the Monday and had a repaired shock, new reverb and new set of pikes back by the Thursday.

you guys had better dealings than me then. had to wait three months on two seperate occasions on rear shocks. id never buy another monarch shock

Cheers for the replies guys, some hope at least.

The problem with mine the TF Tuned fella said was that it's a Monarch in 222mm long, which is exclusive to the Capra - hence spare parts or replacements may take a while to arrive. I'll cross fingers and Hope!
