Mountain Biking

I've heard everyone moan about Elixirs, but I've never really had much trouble to be fair.

I read this too before getting my Boardman that has a set - which made me nervous. But after a lot of digging around it seemed it was just an early revision that had issues with requiring constant bleeding.
I've had my bike ~15 months and I guess done a couple of hundred miles on it without any issues, not needed to bleed them once :)

In other news, ordered a new helmet last night. CRC had the Bell Super 2R reduced down to £135 instead of being ~£170. Glad I spotted it, as I was getting to the point where I was thinking I'd have to cave and pay full price!

I've had mine over heat, just randomly stop working, leak. When they worked they were great. Trying to bleed them was fine, if it worked right. If not it was a nightmare. I fixed mine eventually by buying Shimano.

Went up BPW and rode the new track again and it's probably my favourite up there now! So much fun!

I'm back at bpw is around 6 weeks. Got FoD in 2 weeks to tackle first possibly with no rear brake! Wait for the bleed kit to arrive, hopefully a new kit will solve. If not maybe M8000's for around £130 the pair.

Get some zees, best brake I've ever used. SLXs were leagues above the Juicys and the Zees even better again. Heavier than XT etc though.

My Aeris has been sat on its Aeris since October. I'm gonna redo the Tyres/Sealant but will i need to touch the brakes - they're Sram Guide RS. I hope not. But what if I do. Are they any easier to bleed than Avid Elixirs?

Eurgh.

Hope it all still works.

Literally just answered the same question...... :p

Wouldn't bother bleeding, if they feel fine! Bolt check everything, regrease chain and moving parts. Go ride. It's not really been left 'that' long.

Anybody else excited about the race season? It's so unpredictable this season!

Bruni is going to be spectacular to watch, he is just getting faster. Not sure how Gwin will do on a YT! Too much going on, it's all awesome.
