Thankfully the chain isnt that old, i only replaced it about 2 years ago and its not done anything strenuous to wear/stretch it. I've also had a look at the rest of the cassette and the rest of the cogs look a little worn but nothing horrendous, I've never noticed any issues when changing gear in the past.I've not done but depending how warn the rest of your cassette is I'd imagine that shifting wouldn't be great with a mix of old and new cogs and your chain.
But then if it's only £12 I'd just get it to give it a try. If if works great. If not no great loss but you'll need to shell out £80

I'd be tempted to give the £12 cog a go.
Whilst its all off i might remove the derailleur as well and give it a good clean and soak the jockey wheels in some degreaser. The whole system could probably benefit from a proper overhaul. Ive neglected it for far too long.
I just put one on my EMTB the other day... hopefully it doesn't snap.
did you use the split link to join it? i wouldn't join with a normal pin these days with mtb chains
Those chains come with a powerlink in the box so would be weird if they did.did you use the split link to join it? i wouldn't join with a normal pin these days with mtb chains
Correct and yes I used it, it snapped nowhere near the powerlink. Those chains come with a powerlink in the box so would be weird if they did.
Depends what riding you do. Sommet is more enduro and the escarpe is more trail I think. Great deal tbhJust seen The Vitus Escarpe and Sommet 2020 frames come up on a deal for 300-350 including rockshox rear shock, thinking of picking one up and building it up over the next year or so, which one should i get if i should?
