Did you not do any research before going. The main reason it's such a great place is precisely for the technical climbs.First trip to Gisburn forest this weekend, been meaning to go for an age and never made it - honestly aside from a few fun bits it’s not all that great, lots of technical climbing which I have basically zero interest (and very little skill!) in. Ended up looping the Hope line multiple times after finishing the upper loop for some entertainment.
Anyone think it's worth switching to 180mm brake rotors?

If you're only interested in going downhill it's definitely the wrong place.
Did you find the jump line, opposite way to the Hope Line at the top of the climb.
Yeah that’s fair, didn’t do much research to be fair and honestly enjoyed it all apart from whelp stone crag, but I expect that’s also down to my skills lacking in that sort of riding.
Presume you mean Leap of Faith? Didn’t manage to find it, and didn’t have any sort of signal to get up a map to it so will save it for another day (when I may just take the fire roads from the top of Hope to Hully Gully )
Yeah I've seen that also. Havok Bike part was good to have as it was pretty local but they just let DH trails fall apart and just seemed the only ever concentrate on the jump trails. Owners seemed like numpties also.Just seen that Havok Bike Park is opening their new venue this weekend, pretty tempted to forget the lakes ride I had planned and head down for the festivities instead
Never made it to the original before it got forced to close, but this one sounds decent so far. 3 trails built, 4 more already planned and an uplift service starting later this year.Yeah I've seen that also. Hopefully the new park is better and more prefessionally run
My legs, arms and hands are all torn up from the nettles and thorn bushes on all the trails, also another puncture today, thorn straight though the tire again 3rd in the last couple weeksBacks of my hand are covered in dry skin from where they have whacked on over grown elderflowers that make some trails less wide with my bars are too
I've not done but depending how warn the rest of your cassette is I'd imagine that shifting wouldn't be great with a mix of old and new cogs and your chain.Wow its been a spell since i last posted in this thread
I kind of lost the love for MTB after i moved back from Cyprus and for the last 5 or so years my poor Cube Stereo has been reduced to a work commuter bike.
Well long story short, I was riding to work a couple of weeks ago and found that my chain kept skipping and couldn't figure out for the life of me why.
I decided to give the rear cassette and chain a clean and as the built up grime came away I noticed a heft crack/split on the 11t Cog. It appears that whenever I go into this gear and attempt to put any power through it, it splits and the chain slips FFS!!!!
I've been looking online for a replacement and I'm left with 2 options, replace the whole cassette with a new genuine part at a price of £79.99 or replace the 11t cog from fleebay for roughly £12.
The cassette is the Shimano Deore XT CS-M8000
Has anybody else had any experience buying spare cogs for cassettes and if so what's your experience of them been like?
