Mountain Biking

Thanks folks, a year ago it would've been for steep, enduro style stuff but now I'm not sure if I want to get back to that level. But I'll probably buy something with that intention, ultimately it'll probably be used to give me access to some Munros and to get out after work at some local spots.

The bosch system is attractive only because I've not met anyone with any issues.

YT do have a shop based in Surrey. Depending on were you are based in the UK it could make things easier :)

After seeing my mates YT Decoy, YT won't be on the list sadly. He might've got unlucky, but it's the worst sounding bike I've ever seen. Also been sent back multiple times for different reasons.

I really hope eventually they sort a standard way of mounting the motor and battery so you can get plenty of frame only options, choose which motor you want.
I really would love one but every time i look something puts me off. Really liked the look of the Trek Rail, annoying they don't do M/L in e-bikes.

I have 3 friends with YT decoys, two haven't had much complaint but one of them has never been pleased with it. The whole rear end of it isn't straight and when you remove back wheel it's completely out of alignment. We went for a ride last week and his motor repeatedly threw up error codes and cut the ride short too.

I'm over the moon with my levo but there's so much choice out there I doubt you can go far wrong.

It's a different sport. It's wild how steep things can be yet you still just pedal up like it's nothing.

Yeah I had a play around Cannock on the kenevo SL, after a year out of cycling and I was blown away. I managed a few laps and a play in the mini DH park and it felt like I was in peak fitness.

At the moment it's the best deal between the Levo and the Wild, needing to wait on the C2W being sorted - so will probably just buy whatever is the cheapest.

Yeah same happened to a friends Decoy, wheels broke, headset broke 3x times (twice they wanted the whole bike shipped back). If he hadn't kept his normal bike, he would've barely cycled last year. It makes me want to buy an ebike from a ship, but theres a lack of decent shops around here sadly.

The availability of specialized dealers is what sent me down that route. Their software is excellent too. The phone app is way better than others I've seen. It's so well integrated.

There's lots of good deals around. Mondrakers are worth a look too

I'm over 1k miles on mine so far with no issues, CX gen 4 smart system

I've seen odometer screenshots showing 20km and 30km on some peoples bikes online.

They do fail but there seems to be less complaints around the web, and no doubt Bosch outsell the other brands, apart from maybe shimano.

Imo it goes Bosch > Brose-specialised & Yamaha > Shimano

I bet you can find someone from every brand with a motor thats lasted ages

like this levo @ 12,070

Bosch did a nice update to be more compatible with HR monitors.

Finally people other than apple can broadcast HR to the bike.

Also we can now choose which riding modes we want without visiting a dealer.

It kinda depends what level insurance you're after. If it's just theft then see if it can be covered by your house policy. It's not in a shed and with an approved lock, so I think a lot of house insurance can provide some cover.

Years ago I used to do this, but after a claim they then refused further bike cover so I needed to look elsewhere and settled with Bikmo. I've since moved house, but with n+1 bike issues I now have more than a house policy would be happy to cover. I also used to do a lot of commuting, so the liability insurance and legal cover was a good piece of mind - just in case...

So many sales around ,biking equipment is going on cheap. House of frazers got some nice offers on Five tens
Yeah, some great deals there, i got a couple of pair from Evans earlier this year too for a bargain price. Managed to get myself a new Fox Speedframe Pro helmet for £80, been after one for a while, also finally took the plunge and got a full face Proframe RS and Fox VUE goggles for 50% off list price from a local shop, finally going to try some gravity parks, got BPW and Dyfi lined up in the next few months.

My mate got a proper bargain from the Wiggle sales, he got 4 x Hope Fortus 35 Pro 5 Hub rear wheels, 2 x Orange, 2 x Blue in 29 & 27.5 for £62 each! (He's got a few bikes and likes to switch between mullet and std setups).
