Mountain Biking

Still did a pretty good job!

I used to have Monster T's on my Super 8, if anybody remembers the mtb videos Superheroes I wanted to be like Randy Spangler.

Here's the Le Toy I crashed on

Very nice and totally bonkers :D

I followed so many of the big drop guys from the early days and learnt most of my street riding from some crazy guys.
It did originally have 24inch white Halo front and rears.
The forks were dated 1 year before they were officially released.

Nice, a friend of mine had that big hit back in the day but with the updated Monster T's, 2003 or 2004 model I think there they were. The one's that weighed a ton! Not that the 2002 and earler were light weight!

Tiny picture but all I can find of my 2002 Super 8 on pinkbike.

Another Monster bike that Super 8

I almost upgraded to those 2003/2004 but really couldn't part with my current Monster.

These were from the 90's weighed a tonne, but you could make so many mistakes and they'd just laugh and carry on.

Old wheels and chain device.

Sure I had the ISCG MRP at one time :D

I think I went through just about all they made tbh and ended up with an E-Thirteen Dual.
After the Super 8 I got a 2005 V10 which I put on the E-Thireen guide with the clear bash right, can't remember what the model was.
And thanks to pinkbike here it is

Also 2006 in the Alps flying the V10

They don't make em like they used to.

Now you can ride it up the mountain and then back down again

I had the Marin B17 before the Big Hit and it was still being used up a few years ago.

True, Now Ive gotta an Orbea Occam for trail rides and an YT Tues for the bike parks

2012 V10 I used to own

and the Tues I currently own

Still rocking the Marzocchi 380 C2R2 Ti, Fork feels and performs great so can't really justify replacing it. Ti coil spring FTW :D
Don't have a picture of my Occam but probably should get one on Pinkbike so it doesnt feel left out!

My best/worst injury was fractured eye socket, crushed cheek bone and teeth through my bottom lip in 2005. I'd sold my downhill frame at the time (Santa Cruz Super 8) and my new frame had been delayed so I was forced to go riding DH on my 24" Le Toy 3 hardtail. Was an awesome bike but DJ and street riding, not so much DH

oooof.... thats a decent one... some very respectible swelling of the entire half of your face there :p I've put my bottom teeth through underneath my bottom lip too, lucky to keep my teeth actually!... still have a little lump of scar tissue inside the mouth now that I always end up scraping against my teeth when bored :D

!Its a running joke in the family how much I crash and get injured. Each time I wonder whether thats enough and time to choose some more sensible riding, but then back at it a few months later.

Yeah I guess i was lucky to keep my teeth also but there no was damage to them at all :) Got a bit of titanium going from my eye to by keep now though.

Had the new bike around Hamsterley the other day and it’s a dream. Eeb is the future. Flew round the loop to be honest!

Suspension has been set up to standard but needs a tune for sure. Very plush. Bike is heavy and will take some getting used to but I really like the extra weight. Feels planted.

Gotta say, Rivington/Darwen moors are definitely something i miss (apart from when it's a muddy bog - so maybe about 80% of the year :p)
Yes, I avoid the off piste stuff this time of year.
You see loads of people still using it but it's just destroying it this time of year, come next year it'll be a mess and need loads of work.
Still plenty to ride just not very technical.

No point having it if its going to sit in the garage ;) People always talk about getting a winter ht ect but why would I want to buy a full bike when I can just buy new bearings

I've never understood it either. Bearings are cheap and modern bearings don't give up with a bit of water like they used to.

Oh, my involvement was purely trail running based. The stone steps from Great Hill to Rivington were one of my favourite places to run ever (I'm sure it has a "name" but i always forget!)
