Love building new bikes More pics as you get to it.

Had to change a cassette on an old wheel today, no chain whip to be found, so I re-engineered an old oil filter clamp

Worked well, the Mrs now had a SRAM 10 speed cassette ready for her new ride.

Will tidy it up (replace the screws with bolts) and stick it in the growing bike tools drawer!

Managed to get out this weekend to Fineshade and Wakerley Woods... Needless to say it was pretty damn boggy and hard work cutting through the mud! The things we do for fun

Now to get it clean again ready for more mud

I've not been wakerly for years. It was good around 3 years ago but suffers so bad with weather. The start straight off the road was fun, quite tight, twisty and rooty. Bet its changed loads since!

Looking for a bit of guidance. Wanting to get into mountain biking so looking for a cheap entry level bike to wet my appetite for it. I currently have £200 odd worth of Amazon vouchers, does such a bike exist on there for around 200-300? Link to the mens bikes here.

I know with this kind of budget there probably isn't much difference between them, but just looking for a cheapish starter bike with a view of splashing out more if I take to it. I used to be into it when I was much younger, but so out of the loop now in regards to what brands are the best bang for your buck etc.

You'll be much better off going 2nd hand at that price. Have a look on Gumtree, Ebay and Pinkbike and see what takes your fancy.

I would look at second hand ye, but as I had amazon vouchers I thought there might be a decent entry level on there.
