:D

I already have that soundcard, which I'll be swapping into the new system. That leaves me wondering whether I should put the saving towards a 500gb EVO, or to make the 780 a 780ti. I do have a bit of wiggle room, but would like to stick as close to £1800 as possible :)

What resolution screen do you have?

If its just a 1080P then the 780 will be ample, so the bigger SSD, or get two 250Gb SSD's in RAID0 for the OS :D

27 Iiyama B2712HDS-B1 LCD is what I'm currently using. I was going to chuck a 27" Dell into the mix but I've decided to hold that money back and buy some other bits and pieces. Probably a tripod for my photography addiction :D

I don't mind what the colour scheme is, in all honesty. Although I do have a Corsair mechanical keyboard which is lit with blue lighting, so something that doesn't conflict, like green or more blue would be a better match I suppose :D

And on a happy note, I've had my final bit of ID needed to progress with this mortgage, so funding should now be available well before the end of December (I hope) :D

Eldude I hope you know what you've got yourself into with the blingmaster builds ;)
If you go for a 'standard' build you can save the best part of £100, which you can then use towards the more 'important' bits
But then where would the fun be in that right? You want options for upgrades in the future :)

Oh yeah, I know what I'm doing. I've been building my own PCs since 1999 and using them for a lot longer (pre Windows days :D). I've been lusting after a Corsair Obsidian style case for a couple of years, but as I've also been building my camera & lens collection and slowly improving my kit, the vast amount of my money has been sucked into that for nigh on ten years. Now I want to get a PC set up that is very decent and will allow me to use it for a while. In general I buy the best value motherboards, and go AMD with a decent mid range card. Currently I'm using a 560ti which still allows me to play most games on my black edition 1100T at max settings. It's now starting to show it's age as an over all set up with CoD multiplayer being a bit choppy, although single player is fine.

I decided to take advantage of my current situation and get a very decent system, and as it has a case with window, why not plop it on top of my desk in front of me so I have something pretty to look at? :D My current system has lasted almost 3 years and only cost about £600 as I only needed to upgrade core components. This time I've decided to go the whole hog and replace everything, leaving my current system as a back up and storage monkey :D

Yay :D

Out of curiosity, are there any images of these sort of builds all set up? I know it's akin to peeling the corners open on wrapped christmas prezzies, but still :D

Well what ever build you choose we want a build log :p but I expect a decent cable tidying job .... bit of a secret cable management Nazi ..... no idea why of course ...... :p

That's the main reason I wanted a case like this. For years I've had messy cabling and have slowly bought more expensive solutions to minimise it. Sadly the cases I've had in the past have been cramped and icky.

I've subscribed to this thread so I remember to post the finished article when I get it done.

Is there anything else I'd need for it? Specifically related to the water cooling? I know NOTHING about it. The only time I've been remotely involved in that area was witnessing my mates build about 6 years ago, and that had a problem with the mount to the CPU which resulted in his CPU and motherboard being destroyed (yes, this put me off watercooling). Do I need to buy anything specific for it or do the kits come with everything needed? I've noticed in a few other threads, specific fluids being mentioned, but I have no idea why and notice there's none mentioned above :)

The corsair H100i is a closed loop liquid cooler, its all built into that single unit :) everything you need comes in the box. You only have to install it then forget it as no other maintainance is required.

Oh and before you order come back and ask for another spec as prices in the hardware market can change daily.
