Mozilla says beware Google use Bing

Must admit I thought that was going to be to do with the limited news results or whatever theyve been on about lately, as it is its privacy. I completely agree with Googles stance personally

FYI that means you agree with the Patriot Act? It defies EU privacy laws BTW

It's funny how only a couple of decades ago, the West vilified the USSR for lack of privacy (Stasi, KGB etc...) - seems things are changing

Yes, am I not allowed to be against the EU privacy laws? imo if you dont do anything wrong then you have no reason to fear privacy or lack their of, its not like theyre just going to watch you for the hell of it, start typing certain things in which makes alarm bells ring and yes they should monitor, how else we going to combat things such as terrorism and paedophilia?

Wow, are you being serious? I can't tell!

Depends on what you type

So, you type the word 'bomb', and you're okay with whoever has authority looking at everything you're doing?

What if you get angry one day and start shouting? Maybe they should have a police officer drop in just to watch everything you do in case you might be doing something bad.

Would you mind if I watched you taking a dump? In case you're actually trying to dump illegal goods?

or you could just hand yourself in and get the help you need.

It's not so much "Mozilla says..." as "someone who works for Mozilla says..." - Asa Dotzler frequently says controversial things that I doubt the MoCo lawyers or management would ever countenance. At times he's trolling for a response.

I wasnt aware there were so many tree hugging liberals on here, oh well
Just as well the people in charge dont think this way otherwise there'd be even more internet grooming and self instruction on IED assembly
Fortunately those in charge dont let this happen
People seem to be under the deluded impression that anyone can do what they want, freedom of speech itself doesnt really exist (start shouting racist abuse at someone you'll soon be arrested) so I dont know what makes you think it would be ok to do this sort of stuff on the net

What if I was researching, for example cocaine. I suspect my son is taking it and want to know everything about it. Should the alarm bells ring?

Tell you what would it be better if we had CCTV in our houses - we have nothing to hide after all.

Basically what I'm saying is that it's innocent until proven guilty. Google use that data, not just for giving to the authorities, but they also use it for marketing purposes. I think it's a very backward stance. It's just like Facebook trying to make you use the lowest privacy settings. It's just like the ID card debate - why should we have to have one. It's about making illegal immigration harder? Everyone knows thats rubbish. It's about having all of your data in one central place. If they find your finger prints or DNA at a crime scene then guess whose going to be knocking on your door.
