MSI GTX780 Lightning due 07/08/13

Come bench mine with me Sunday mate. I will bin the cards Saturday then we use the best to kill some WR's Sunday.

You will see my benches soon enough!!!!

Would love to mate, if only it wasn't the 400 odd mile round trip I'd have to make :p

Next time I'm back in Yorkshire visiting my folks I'll be sure to drop by though :)

I wont be rejecting any. Just putting them in order of best to worsed. So for one card I use best, two the top two and so on. It will be close anyway I think. All modded Titan do 1750 so I cant see 780 Lightening doing any less. The best will be 1850-1900. But quad at 1750 will do me.

Ok Paul next time your around drop in!! I cent beleive 780 Lighteings on LN2 is not tempting ya!!!

3 fan this time, looks like a pair of 100mm fans with a central 92mm fan :)

It's incredibly tempting pack, but spending £200 on train tickets is going to a) disrupt my lightning fund and b) get me castrated by the Mrs :p

You should set up a live stream some time...

Keyboard to go with your lightning

Which cards are you using, the normal production ones with the coolers stripped off or the bare PCB ones you get sent.

What does binned mean in this context?

Generally it refers to graded chips (performance at given voltage)

Never herd of cold binning, very much doubt such a process exists unless its based on ASIC quality where a lower percentage number is supposed to favour extreme overclocking environments, like liquid nitrogen cooling.

I don't know the ins and outs of it, just remember Neliz saying in the ocn thread that chips are binned for cold performance, it may well be to do with lower asic, iirc my 7970 lightning was 71% & clocked very very well (1350mhz @ 1.36v) under water.

8Pack may be able to shed more light on it!

Anyhow today is the day I constantly refresh :D

Me too! Although I am thinkng about grabbing a twin frozr for the time being and getting a lightning when they arrive as itll save me a bit of cash (only a bit) because if I dont sell these 7970's soon the lads gonna go elsewhere.

Yeah if it's too heavily priced I may forget about 780's altogether, so we'll see :)

My guesses for today are a 1.1ghz stock boost, card to be 13" long, three fan cooler with a 17+2 phase vrm layout holding a price tag of £624.99 ;)
