MSI GTX780 Lightning due 07/08/13

Ah you may be right, I was counting each side of the contact plate, a closer look it seems like 7 pipe pass through

I might but a volt modable 770 is looking the more fun option atm (and cheaper!).

Though it depends on pricing for me, its also a huge gamble so close to the 9970 release.

Probably this thing does look to have its fair share of lights.

$749.99 retail, which is £483 + tax, so at the very very best £570, or at worst £600, or we'll get completely screwed as usual and see £749.98.

Taken from same guy

"Rbby258 tool does work. +150 = 1.32volts."

Can do 1.325v on any ncp4206 based card, like reference 780's.

Will wait and see how tomorrow go's down but so far I'm far from blown away.

Have a horrible feeling this is going to be 7970 lightning all over again.

Again I'm not really blown away, 1241mhz isn't exactly unheard of on a 780. That elpida memory can't be great if they can only manage 6.6ghz, though both could be down to the overclocker and not the card.

Will wait to hear from owners rather then reviewers.

Even the 1.4ghz bar has been raised again, many are getting titans on water well north of 1300mhz with the recent developments, for us mere mortals that means clocks in excess of 1500mhz are going to be required to keep up the pace.

I was about right then, £50-70 more then reference. Look forward to seeing how everyone gets on with them. I think I'll keep my money in my pocket until I see what amd throw at us in a few weeks time :)

Was going to get one of these but not for that price. I've had terrible luck with cards that are promoted as some of the best overclockable models in the past. W3bbo's £460 Gigabyte OC 780 is screaming at me in the MM.

Did you get my email suarez? :)

The big appeal for these for me was the voltage, now that can be done on any ncp4206 card that appeal has faded slightly. Time will tell I suppose.

Lol @ the email msi just sent me about the lightning launch...'oc certified, no limits!!' Surely they should have a disclaimer when touting the 'no limit' thing again

EK blocks have always been the very top performers, even if they did have their nickel issues a few years back, iirc their thermal performance is only matched by watercool and aquacomputer, while nothing touches them for flow :)

I'm in the same boat tone, the hack has really shaken things up!

Meh, think I'm going to kick back on a couple of 670's until after xmas, have a clear picture of everything by then and pricing will have settled.
