**MSI HD 7950 TWIN FROZR III BOOST EDITION REVISION2 IN STOCK!!**

Gibbo can I get a code for far cry 3 as well as I bought the card on Friday at £220 with 2 games ;).

Only issue for me was problems getting audio from hdmi to my amp. I would get sound watching mkvs but it would drop out every 5 secs before returning again.

Eventually got it working again the next day after removing and re installing drivers etc, a lot of messing about. I've not had a real chance to try the card with any testing games apart from fsx and so far seems ok.

I'm still a bit cautious about installing the 2 games that came with it in case a problem does develop and I have to return, I hope it doesn't.

Also is there a definitive way of identifying if the card is the new revision and not one from the old rev?

Thanks for your help!!
I've already submitted an RMA request, and have had a reply, in response to my request for a replacement and if possible the additional games. The man said he'd raised an RMA number for me to get a refund so that I could then purchase the card again, including the extra 3 games. Just want to confirm that I should go through with this, or shall I just wait until Monday, then get in contact with you?

The problem I can see with returning the product and getting a refund is that by next week that card'll probably have gone back upto £260, and since I requested a refund rather than replacement, just for the sake of 3 games, I'll have to pay the extra £40.

Shall I request a replacement instead, and then contact you later for the game code(s)?

Thanks again.

Returning this piece of crap, hits 80c under load and then the computer locks and reboots..

For a card that's runs "10c cooler" according to the box it's laughable, do MSI think refference 7950's run at 90c??

And then there's the noise, this piece of trash is noisier then my old refference GTX470 and that that thing was a hoover.

So it's too loud, too hot and crashes.......

What ever genius thought it was a good idea to set default core voltage at 1.2v is an idiot.

hmm, i was going to get one of these but im seeing too many negative posts about them :/ i think il keep my 5870 till the 8 series is out, im only really playing FC3 atm and its fine on medium'ish settings

Yep also drop me a mail on Monday :)

So is everyone who've got the new revision or is just some of you that still have the problem? Interested to know as i've got paid and i'm after a new card, and this one with its 5 games interest me the most.

If its everyone is having problems i'll probably get a gigabyte one.

Hm, sort of put off now after reading this thread. I will be buying it to REDUCE the noise and power consumption from my GTX480. Not increase it :p

work

Will this be beneficial to my current build?

I have a
Q6600 CPU
Ati 5850 gpu
4gb ddr2
P5k mobo
550w corsair PSU

Will my older components bottleneck this card a lot?

Meh pretty much, you'll be better aiming for a 7850, or a 7770.

just out of interest, what's that q6600 clocked to?

Nothing special 3.00ghz I'm not an experienced oc'r. I don't find my computer slow at all though Q6600 has been a good CPU.

I've got too much cable clutter in my case (antec900) got 3 hdd

Looks like I'll upgrade my computer so I get ddr3 and maybe a new haswell cpu. Im thinking maybe get this GPU now try it and in a couple of months get the rest of a new system the haswell CPUs are meant to be arriving in June?
