I think so would love to go Asus again but their warranty worrys me, used to love their boards. I've only had one previous Gigabyte board which I'm using now very happy with it.

Biostar motherboards in stock in the USA, pity it isnt here as I maybe tempted for the Extreme it should be around £120 at my working out, I was quite accurate with the price of the Evga P55 ***.

I'm giving myself upto £150 budget for a motherboard, I always have done since Athlon days. :)

Come to think of it, why are you going for i5 at all? Your rig is perfectly fine.

I know lol, absolutly crazy but I'm always the same as soon as something new comes out, I cant resist the temptation.

It's not a major deal anyway, even if I get £70 for motherboard, £100 for P2 x4 955BE, £35 for ram the upgrade difference is only around £150 I can live with that when it's going to last me 2 years.

Well, just made the order in time hopefully !

And the rig is for my Dad, so even though you say how easy it is to overclock, I doub't he could still overclock even with the oc genie.

Now it's just a case of deciding on the cpu, with or without hyperthreading.

With regards to the cpu cooler, have you tried the arctic cooler freezer 7 pro xtreme rev2 Yewen ?

Or be like me & have a PII htpc/light gaming & a i5 gaming pc :D

Hi Yewen i rang this morning asking about the limit on amount of boards i can order because me and my friend wanted one, and your sales said i could order 2 at the same time without any problems.
So i did that on the 1st wave and got my email confirmation and it has been ok all day until i just checked and it has been reduced to just one board.....
Now if your sales said 1 board per customer he could have ordered on the 1st wave at the same time and got a board.
Because when i rang up after i had made the order they said there was only 28 pre orders before me, so i would have been in the 1st batch with no placement issues and the sales advisor said everything was fine.

Now if they made me aware i could have at least told my mate to order on the second wave.....

Where to go from here ? since you took the £171.01 out of my account already. :(
 
Missed out on one of these myself thanks to a stack of bills :(
