MSI's pricing for R9 290/290X - OUCH

Their games bundle is slowly becoming worthless though unless they add some newer games. You can get £20 for Arkham origins on the Nvidia side of the fence if you sell it as it is new and not released. I cant think of any of the AMD never settle games that will go for more than a tenner if that.

European countries pay VAT

If MSI's euro RRP is correct then the UK price will be between 550-600 pounds for the 290x and 440-490 for the 290. UK is always more expensive for whatever reason.
 
The price might still change before release. It could be a double-bluff by AMD to stop Nvidia undercutting them before launch. After a bit of outrage at the price, we'd all be pretty happy if it turned out to be £100 cheaper than we thought.

If you were afraid that you won’t afford this card then don’t be. In Montreal NVIDIA will be showing something that may change the pricing in high-end segment on both sides. It’s for gamers and it’s not ONLY a GPU (but more information later)

Do you really think its going to cost 650-700? You can buy 2 280x cards for that and surely those would be a lot faster than one 290x?
 
Didn't expect anything different from AMD they've been worse than nvidia when it comes to pricing over the last few years. 460 max for 290x or I'm just gonna stick with my 7950

If AMD give people the run around and take the £$%^ pricewise on this pre order scheme for the R9 290X, it will be remembered for a very long time.
