I would really recommend people avoid using that patch - it's almost certainly seen as illegal by Microsoft, could do just about anything, and is much easiler to get an invitation since they're becoming very widely available now.

i wasnt talking about using the patch if you look at the page they are giving out invites :rolleyes:

the beta software will only allow you to use msn 8 so it has to lock msn 8 to your user name and pass

its all safe

The invitation requires you to sign in because Windows Live Messenger 8 will only connect to accounts that have been given an invitation - signing in using the invitation link activates your account for the beta. You can still use MSN 7.5 (or and other supported versions) even after you've signed on to the beta.
