MSN messenger

I used to use MSN alllll the time, but in the past year or so I started using it less and less. A few weeks ago I decided to log in and had to update it. It looks far too busy really. If I'm going to use MSN, I'm using it to IM people, not join their 'network' or anything else it now seems to offer. I haven't bothered logging on since, firstly because it really slows my machine down and secondly because if someone's important enough that I want to talk to them - I'll phone them :)

To Op- I have an old version of MSN 7.0 that I grabbed from MS's website, before all the "Live" rubbish turned up and it became diabolically slow.

Drop me an email via trust and I can pop it up on megaupload or rapidshare if you like, once I get home.

Edit - Still works fine and never asks for any more updates.

Finally got bullied by Microsoft into upgrading MSN today to the newest version and it's utter gash. Moved onto Trillian which is great but I can't figure out how to change my screen name

Anyone know ?

Edit: Also how to get rid of the popups in bottom right ?

Very tempted to try one of the other MSN clients , can they handle multiple accounts at once? And is there any limit to how many contacts you can have?

Use MSN for work and always have 3 instances running at once which eats a lot of memory as well

I used to keep it for occasionally playing a bit of 7 card poker with people, but I don't bother any more.

I don't need the webcam features and whatnot so I'm really tempted to uninstall it and go for e.g. Trillian, Pidgin or Digsby..

+1 for digsby, it's got a very clean look.
