Muhammad Ali put on life support as family warned ‘the end is near - **edit Ali has now passed away*

I feel completely deflated. Other than friends or family I can't imagine the death of another affecting me more than this. The quotes from fellow boxers speak volumes.

A true legend with so much charisma and was not afraid of standing up for what he believed in.

What? He is the very definition of legend: 'an extremely famous or notorious person, especially in a particular field.'

He was arguably one of the greatest boxers of all time and on top of that a civil and black rights activist, so yes definitely what I'd class as a legend.

You would, I wouldn't, in the modern sense of the word.

If we're going off dictionary definitions then fine.

Another legend gone, RIP :(

He is widely considered to be the greatest boxer that ever lived, i'd say that warrants being called a legend.

Oh, and Clough would've had him. Remember the left hook he landed on that Forrest fan? Devastating.

What people would you class as a legend right now? Just out of curiosity.

With Ali, he is a name that everyone in the world associates with boxing, his name transcends generations in the sport. If talking about boxing I'd refer to him, my dad would refer to him, and my grandfather would refer to him. For that I personally think "legend" is justified.

RIP champ :(. A true legend of the boxing world but above a truly immense humble human being.

May you keep floating like a butterfly and stinging like a bee up there in the sky above.
