Four shootings in the space of a week or so, a true utopian dream.

More proof that communism doesn't work.

There's a reason why people have spent a 60 odd years trying to escape Communist/socialist regimes, unfortunately today's priviledged 'youth' are to stupid to learn.

You think no police = communism.

    Blimey. Not heard that before.

Do I? Well I never! Whatever would I do if you weren't there to tell me what I think?

Do you actually know what communism means or are you just acting dense on the internet? Protip: The clue is in the name.

Hardly. All communist countries have been police states.

It is like the pigs in 'Animal Farm' you may be rid of one set of cops only to find that you have replaced them with another set entirely. Communism in all its incarnations does this. The state becomes the police and vice versa.

Even if you meant to say anarchism, this is not it.
Are you for real? Studying communism based on Animal Farm?

Did anyone seriously think this would not be the outcome?

To be honest, I was hoping it would implode in on itself in a glorious riot of violence rather than go out with a whimper. But hey, we can't always get everything we wish for can we?

Animal Farm was George Orwells allegory of Stalinism and it sounds a bit like the Seattle experiment is going along similar lines, power struggles etc. It is not a weighty tome but neither is it a children's story. Designed for easy access in today's language.

They had their own “police”/security/people enforcing rules...

    No Chads in Chaz

I even quoted the relevant parts, and you still couldn't grasp it.

The article's about a police free zone and you both immediate call it communist. (Then brand anyone flagging that mistake of yours as "leftist").

    :)

Is being 'leftist' bad? Because I see it get used as a perjorative term and I am unsure as to why.

There are also multiple shootings, rape and arson attacks in non "cop-free" zones

    What's the OPs point?

This zone was meant to abolish hatred, power hierarchies and chimp tier behaviour.
