Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

Going out for a second tuning session before i get summoned to do some work

Will take a few of these but enjoying the tweaking.

Everytime I go out its a new issue. Now its white lines on video feed when flying and the throttle is increased, stops when it decreases

I have less vibration than I did before

Didn't get to tune today

Need to sort issues out with Mobius and my fpv first

Never got it working with my taranis either,it bored me trying to get it to work which annoyed me and it lost browney points.

Maybe try again when I have time. But my life at the moment doesn't bode well on time

What I found is one persons "values/settings" didn't work for others.

If anyone has a working taranis file though would be willing to try

Weird.

Any chance you could ping me a copy of your .eepe file for that model?

Do you think it could be USB cable related? Seems unlikely to me, but the mobius camera is pretty sniffy about the one I use.

Here you go: https://www.dropbox.com/s/eyiqrrt7e3etjn5/document1.eepe?dl=0

Thanks will give it a try, what cable you using? Iv tried usb cable, audio lead in to mic jack and load software and also by 10-1 sim dongle

Couldn't get a decent set of results between them

Pulled the trigger on a NanoQX FPV, been wanting one for ages and there it was at the Weston Park model show in one of the trade stalls.. Just spent four batteries flying around the garden, in the house. up the stairs and out of the window - so .. much. FUN :)

(off topic... got a UMX micro radian too...)

Great little quad. The motors will die after maybe 20 flights and the 2 min flight time will grate after a while though.
I converted mine with 7mm motors, a different frame and a 500mAh battery (see a few posts back) for 8 minute flights and a much more robust craft.

The really great thing with the QX though is that you can transfer to another frame and use bigger motors pretty easily. The FPV model has a stronger flight board and can take up to 8mm motors if you really want to tear the place up.

Looks interesting what size is that and what frame?

It's called the mavity 250 fpv. Will only spin 5" props and the motor buckets will only fit 1806 motors. There is a larger version that is 260 or 280 that will hold 2204's and spin 6" The frame is made by fossils stuff. It's £65 ish but has a lifetime guarantee :)

I like the fact there is a small amount of protection for motors and all the electronics except the cameras are inside. It's gonna be a tricky bugger to build I suspect. Should be under 500g with 1300mah 3s batteries. Hopefully about 5 mins of flight. I bought the cc3d pdb that has a 5v and 12v Bec built in, so will be able to swap to 4s once my skills are up to it.

Spent yesterday fragging both my hexas. Going to rebuild both nice and clean then sell one or maybe both. Already got both my gps flight controllers up on eBay along with my f330 clone.

It occurred to me the other day that I really just need to practise flying one craft and learn properly, get it dialled in and have fun rather than piling up loads of stuff I rarely use :)

Interesting indeed

Hopefully will have it ready to fly on Wednesday and let you know how interesting!

Been out for a curry for a mates birthday tonight otherwise I'd be up to my elbows in solder already!

I'll just leave this here:

It's seriously big but extremely light. Build quality seems excellent for the price. It came with 2 batteries too as well as a charging cable with banana plugs.
The biggest plus so far without turning it on? I can get it on my head and sealed while I wear my glasses! This makes it immediately better than any other FPV goggle out there.

First mod is already planned. A head tracker to mount on it and connect to my Taranis to control a two axis FPV camera gimbal on my S900.

Yeah, from the US. From getfpv.
I pre-ordered it back in April was it? Pretty swift really. I did get stung for customs though. Only £20 so not terrible.

Was wondering about the brushed motors. I'll get a few on order. I saw your post, think it was lingering subconsciously and helped me during an impulse buy :)

Just been for a gander outside today with it, 4 batteries ripping through the street, around lamposts, quiet road here, wife kept and eye for cars but it's quiet here and the size is really barely any danger to anything. What a blast! So incredibly stable for the size, and I'm really impressed by the VTx. I can fly through my house, outside, back through windows, down the stairs, out to the garden and only really when I hit 3-4 walls between me it starts getting a bit snowy. Major thumbs up.

I'm finding it impossible to fly in manual mode though, think it needs some seriously reduced rates on the Tx for it but it's fun in auto level anyhow.

Today was perfect for the UMX radian too. Very forgiving, doddle to launch and can fly in a small park. Very relaxed to fly and glide. It does need a very little / no wind like today though. Went through 5 batteries on it. My first fix wing flight and no issues (RC simulator + years of playing MS flight sim helped :) Even did some loops; **oops off topic alert ;)

Think it's time to join a club, and progress to some bigger craft. Miniquads are awesome but I'm a bit frustrated with crashes, broken props and expense at the moment.
