Ive never had any problems with deans or XT60 connectors,my large quad must pull atleast 60 - 75 amps no problems at all.

I hate Deans connectors, they're often mismatched if you don't get the same batch which is really frustrating. That and the LiPos from HK all come with XT60s so it's a no brainer for me.

Looks like I'll probably just go with the XT60s, my quad probably only gets near the 60A limit on full throttle which tends to only happen for a second or so. All the builds I've considered doing next are smaller and lower ampage so I'll be fine.
Shame Hobbyking doesn't stock male/female pairs in the UK.... To Ebay I go.

I get most of mine either from HobbyKing or GiantShark.

The ones I've ordered look identical to the HobbyKing ones. I doubt they can really be much worse based on how cheap HobbyKing 's versions anyway. Will see how they turn out, was only a few quid anyway.

almost guaranteed - health and safety in the factory or something like that...

Any tips for removing it cleanly?

Also that Sonar sensor.. how would that be connected up to a KK2 board?

Edit: Found it on HobbyKing, even cheaper than eBay and it comes with cables!

Some separate flux and a solder sucker, dab with flux, heat til molten and suck it off. Lead-free will probably need more heat if you're used to tin-lead

Swapped my SlowFly 8045's for some Graupner style 1050's yesterday and now getting 18-19mins on a few Nanotech 4500mAh's I bought :cool:

Shame they take so bloody long to charge though!

Might buy a few 4S to try with my next order.

check the bases of your motors - make sure they aren't getting too steamy... a 2" increase is a big shift in mass for the motors to shift...

Yeah I was paying very close attention to the temperatures of the motors and the ESCs and they are all fine, the only thing that gets quite warm to the touch are the batteries and they always got warm after a flight on the 8045's too.

I finally have balanced props now, both quads seem to hover quieter which is good. If I'm honest I know everyone bangs on about it but I never really noticed any major problems with not balancing them.

I just have to take them outdoors with a camera mounted to see the real improvment, I have a Mobius in the post for that

Not balancing reduces your efficiency, and also kills your bearings faster. Also if you stick a camera on it you get jello. It's worth doing.

Having a nightmare with HobbyKing Hong Kong Customer Service, they are refusing to issue a refund for goods they cannot supply and will only issue a 'Store Credit Note', which is completely useless to me as 1. They clearly don't have the stuff in stock even though the stuff is flagged 'In Stock' and 2. I'm now completely put off buying anything from them in future if they pull a stunt like this. :mad:
