Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

I forgot to post this a few weeks ago, it's an 8 shot panorama from my mini 3, from close to where I live, it's a place called Tindalls bay, and on the other side of the peninsula is Matakatia beach.

A sort of an attempt at a 360 Sphere pano with the Mini 3 Pro.

OMG, did you seriously go out and paint Mark Sykes Photography in fancy script on the side of that bridge??!!
You vandal, you.......!! :D

Does your main site feature nudity or something?
Work internet just had a massive hissy fit and blocked/banned all access to it...

No, I used Photoshop to add the signature.

For potential future hits to my site... yes, there's lots of nudity
Reality... no, there's no nudity, apart from a few statues in Florence, that aren't wearing any clothes

I've ordered the DJI Avata. I've never flown fpv, and after watching a few videos on Youtube made my mind up. It looks fun (and scarey) :)

FPV is great fun, did you order the other controller with it for full acro flight or just the pack with the motion controller?
You'll love it then you'll be sucked into the hobby and spend thousands on custom built fpv quads which are capable of so much more than the avata can do.
I have the DJI FPV and am at that stage, wanting a custom build quad but all the regulations are really putting me off, if I can find somewhere to fly regularly without issues I suspect I'll be fully onboard with custom quads but the current restrictions are just over the top and look to be getting worse for all drones from what I've seen.

There are plenty of options available that support the dji v1 goggles and stay below the 250g weight limit.

My current quad is the ummagawd 5" 2fiddy running 6s batteries, get around 4-6 minutes flight time depending on how aggressive I am, my other quads are tiny whoops but they are running analog, although HD versions are starting to appear.

Still need an observer though and staying below the 250 gram limit drastically drops options for choice almost entirely down to tiny whoops from what I can see, you're definitely not getting anything that runs 6s batteries coming in at 249 grams which is kinda of what I want to be flying, give it a while and I may well come around to the idea of tiny whoops but right now, not for me.

Anybody purchased the Slipstream DLC for Liftoff yet? It's cheap and basic but really adds to the sim being able to chase cars and try to get decent camera shots :)

Thats what Im afraid of. I do similar with photography, and Ive spent loads on lens :)

Ive got the bundle with the Motion Controller. I'll see how I get on with it, if I struggle then I'll probably get the normal controller. From what Ive been reading, the motion controller is easy to use and so much fun :)

Looks like I messed up multi quoting

One I took of a WWII Observation post (bottom right, just off path, looks like a turret less tank) that shows how the tide, current and wind change the shape of the coast.

Some shots I took while in Poland a few weeks ago. Took the Mini 3 Pro and the Air 2S with me. The Air 2S didn't come out of its bag even once. The Mini 3 Pro was in the air nearly every day.

My 2fiddy is a 5" quad that is exactly 242g Inc battery, I always have a spotter as a few of us get together and go flying once our twice a week.

Just for Info,

Airspace restrictions

We wanted to let you know that following the death of Her Majesty The Queen a series of airspace restrictions have been put in place to cover events until the evening of 19 September. These affect all airspace users including drone flying.

Details of the central London restriction until the morning of 19 September have been published as a briefing sheet

This will be followed later this week by a separate NOTAM to cover central London and Windsor for the rest of 19 September. We will publish available links to information on the restrictions at https://airspacesafety.com/home/mourning-and-funeral-of-her-majesty-the-queen/

Any non-standard flight (NSF) or enhanced non-standard flight (ENSF) clearances within the London restriction, are withdrawn for the duration.
