Pretty sure it would come under model aircraft. If they had just put drone then you may have a loophole lol


The risk is too high around London though, if it falls out the sky it likely to hit someone and cause damage

Plus, imagine the population of London, and then those who already own one, the more people that see people flying them in the few parks they have, the more people will think "hmmm, I like that, I will buy one" queue London parks being full of model aircraft/drone flyers

not really sure of others, they look quite small, and most other ones are just businesses
 
Another ESC gone, this one up in smoke, not sure if its taken out a motor or not.

Im just going to slowly replace the ESCS I think, thats 2 new ones I am now having, and not going to **** around shortening these wires


Is there defenatly no connectors that will be small enough to just solder on and connect up?

Two motors on, spinning in the right direction and prop nuts staying on, will order one more ESC tonight, have one arriving tomorrow.

what ESCs you using that seems odd.

You can use 3mm banana plugs (I do between the ESCs and motors as I knew I was upgrading my motors) but they are just a bit more weight and another point of failure.

To be honest I know once there on there on, but how much weight are they going to add in honesty? Its not going to make a massive difference, and its likey to be less prone to faikure than what i currently have.I'm only looking to use fpv gear on this so the fpv camera and nothing on top

Is there any other type of lighter connector I can use with the connection between motor and escs? Even something I can get from a hardware store

Reason it probably shorted and nearly set my bed on fire is because the ESC (well I say ESC, pretty much all my escs have been butchered to death because of soldering), never would have run in to any of these issues with small connectors

Saying that one side has been done without connectors now just about. The other side will have brand new escs which I will just solder

I'm working on a metal lipo bunker.

Vertical standing
2 abreast, 3 a row
All metal construction from 4mm steel so it's heavy and if the bad event happens will protect everything
Self extinguishing via a container of play sand
Powder coated so looks the part
Charger and PSU mounting
Rubber feet
Smoke alarm mount
Handel's

Each lipo sits in a bunker of it's own. Will be box section vertically 80x80x250x4mm. This is welded to a 4mm sheet of steel. Just waiting for some 6s measurements. There is a cut out for the cables too pass through. Very small cut out for the cables.

Across the top of each column will be a plate/container that's sandwiched a sheet of polythene sheet. Above this will be the play sand.

The theory is if a lipo goes up the fire will only go vertically and melt the plastic, this allows the sand to flow and extinguish the fire.

I did a quick doodle of the idea

Wouldn't a steel case just do?

I would hardly think there would be enough oxygen in there anyway if its sealed properly.

I can't see any flames getting far


Or better still, a case with sand in, and the batteries (with connectors covered) placed in the sand

That then mean cleaning. The sand would also need too be dry.

The fire doesn't need that much oxygen. Sadly the chemical in this product are a fuel. It's a chemical fire still.

I don't want all of them together and if 1 goes it'll take them all and if that's 6 I paid £133 for that lot.
