Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

[cheeky]So if we can't sell it in the MM, can we sell it on the thread? [/cheeky]

To be honest, I generally prefer to hoard. I have though, recently bought a stupidly expensive shed, a new car and a greenhouse so sadly my funtime funds are looking rather depleted.

Looking around now to see what else I can sell to afford the raiju.

[cheeky] definitely not [/cheeky]

:p

Not so efficient but damn tough. Wonder how the 5030 version compares to the GemFan 5030, as that's what I base every other prop from

So then, nobody been flying this week yet then?

It's a lovely sunny day here but a little gusty, I'm hoping it will calm down a little for when I get home.

Have spent the last 3 evenings repairing/tweaking various things so I'm hoping I'll get to pop out later today. Gonna try not to break anything/lose anything.

Last weekend I had a 90 window minute for flying one evening -

15 mins to drive then walk to flying site
10 mins setting up everything up
10 mins unsetting all the fpv stuff when I realised my flight cam was knackered
15 minutes flying
5 minutes replacing props after a crash
3 minutes flying
remainder of allotted time (30 mins approx spent hunting in long grass for Mobius/Battery after massive crash

I should probably try uploading some video's at some point. So far the sum total of my footage is several minutes of solid crashing and about 4 hours of a mobius lying in the grass with me cursing it's ability to hide in even the shortest of grass, in the background!

Been far to windy to fly round here this week. Though i was hopeful for this lunch time, but its trying to rain now.

I used to use heavy duty fishing line to loosely tether my Mobius, so it comes loose in a crash but doesn't go too far. It has a lanyard slot on the back end, seemed to work quite well. Don't bother recording now

I guess calling them lanyard slots is a little generous. All four corners have them though

Lashed mine on yesterday and didn't lose it once!

Tried Cleanflight 1.9 though and didn't have much fun with it, I think it's broken all my previous tuning on the hex. Just feels weird now

Out again tonight to tune a bit more I think! Either that or switch back to 1.8......

While I was away at the weekend I tried the autotune on Cleanflight. Very impressed with how well it found good settings, and how quickly it worked.

Damn it, bloody 250 motor wire has come out whilst trying to solder it. Why cant these things just use tiny bullet connectors

New motor needed

Thinking about trying 2mm bullet connectors

Need to machine down those locknuts a few mm, damn things don't engage the threads thanks to the really short prop adapter on the MN2206 and the chunky hub on the HQ6045 :(

Blackout Super Mini H: 4S, MN2206, KISS 18, HQ6045, Naze32 (Cleanflight), X8R (Sbus), SP-FLVS cell telemetry, Taranis Plus.

Just ordered a Phantom 3 Professional. Should get it tomorrow.

The pictures and videos Ive been looking at lately look stunning. Hopefully Ill sell my Vision which will make the cost of the P3 a bit easier.
