ThanksYep. If you're closer than 3 miles just give ATC a call (we don't bite), as long as you are operating clear of the approach or climb-out they'll probably be happy for you to be there.

Mavic pro is 5 weeks into repair at maplins
Apparently should be back next week, can’t say I am impressed with the speed of service or updates but at least it’s fixed
I went to Maplin so I had some support but it seems they have the worst customer care around just a quick warning for anybody thinking the same
I have neither and flying in the morning (bad planning I know) I guess what I do have is original Spark packaging case I have removed the propellers and put both batterys in the snug battery compartments.
So battery that was in Spark is now in the compartment I didnt think would be safe to have it still in the drone
I use the Team Blacksheep lipo bags (mainly because they have the TSA rules on them), I've been through security (US/Amsterdam/Paris), no issues at all with any quantity (had around 30 lipos a few times), the prop tool on the other hand, even under 3", they go nuts over!!
Anyone know of any decent RC forums I could sell my taranis etc, I put it up in MM but not sure where else to try.
You could look at Drone Junk Yard on facebook, just protect yourself first really, same as ebay.
from my experience I wouldn't really bother with a cheapo one, they fly nothing like any dji ones, they are actually more difficult to fly if you ask me, beauty about the spark etc is that if you feel your not in control etc just let go of the sticks and it will (or should) just hover. Having said that I bought my son a Husban X4 Desire H502E for xmas, it was only £50 and I think it might be the cheapest GPS drone available, no FPV but he'll have fun with it
Cheers for the info. The Sparks do look relatively simple to fly as a lot is automated. Tempted just to splash the cash now!
The point I was getting at was that a cheap £40 one is in no way a comparison to a half decent drone but understand what your saying, there really like chalk and cheese, ive bought cheapo ones and they just bounce of walls etc whereas I can fly my mavic or spark in the house with total faith and confidence, but on another note, has anyone ever taken a drone to the French alps? I'm going skiing in Jan and fancy taking my mavic just wondering what their like over there with them?If you have it to burn then I guess why not.
Personally I got a £40 toy quad to mess about with and break, then purchased a racer.
