Muse - Drones

The concert was typical Muse - fantastic spectacle and the songs are at their best when played live.

I'm not sure if you thought this booyaka but in Birmingham I thought the crowd was pathetic. Nobody just ever really got going, too many stood around on their sodding phones. I wish there was some kind of screening that allowed only proper fans into the standing section, not these passive ****ends.

It really spoilt it for me.

Yep - people got really aggy at my group for jumping a bit. It's not like we were body slamming or fighting, or being remotely aggressive.

Really, you just have to go for it. People who are like minded will find you, field of dreams style. I do feel a bit of an ass having to shunt people out of the way in crowds like that, when they are like hurrr you shall not pass!!! when they have probably legitimately waited to be there - but if they are just stood there texting, they should have got a seat IMO.

I saw them in Manchester. First time since 2007 for me having first seen them in 2000ish. My thoughts are the show was unrelentingly miserable and had lost that euphoria Muse used to create on occasion even with the old heavier stuff. Secondly, Madness went over better with the crowd than Citizen Erased. Thirdly, the political conspiracy theory stuff was lame 8 years ago. Conclusion, they're not the band I used to love.
