Muse.

I've seen them live twice over the past year also, and was a massive fan before hand, of the albums (bar the latest). Now, I'm afraid to say, I ****ing hate this band. This is the first time I've ever gone from loving a band so much to hating them, and I'm absolutely gutted about it. No idea if it's me or the band themselves.

Oh well.

Why do you hate them now?

LOVE

Saw them both nights at Wembley this year.

Wouldn't say the most recent album was that great though.

How was Biffy on the Saturday?? I was gutted that I got Friday tickets tbh, Lily Allen was absolutely horrendous, an assault to my ears, what made it worse I think was that Biffy are one of my favourite bands.

I couldn't really get into Muse's set either, questionable choices to play live I think... Neutron star collision, I belong to you etc. They were pretty meh. Exogenesis was epic though, and loved the experience of seeing them in such a huge venue, they put on a great show. However in all honesty, I enjoyed their gig at the Glasgow SECC at the end of last year much more.

Out of interest what would be a perfect set list?

I generally do not like TiRO, but this version
is my favourite.
The Kaoss pad stuff at the beginning is amazing, I wish he'd do it more often

I saw Muse live last week at Wembley. They were amazing but the leveling I found pretty bad as I couldn't make out the vocals very well. Their drummer is amazing. I love some of their stuff, very emotional and a lot of feeling. Someone above said that the albums lack quality in the recordings. Can you expand on this? It's funny because i was lisetening to the albums the other day and they have been ripped to aac. This is the first time I listened to aac vs mp3 and I found no difference. If anything the aac didn't sound as good as what I normally get out of mp3s and I am now wondering if this is something to do with the quality of recordings on Muse albums generally?

I find Muse's latest albums to be going downhill, team this up with ticket prices shooting up quite a bit and it = bad time.
Glasgow was good last time and the lasers made it pretty cool but... That last album... Ugh.

There'll be plenty other bands step in to fill the void though. :)

Some of Muse's best songs have been dropped for their new wishy washy rubbish, songs like

Bliss
Showbiz
Cave
Hyper Music
Micro Cuts
Muscle Museum
Dead Star
Sunburn

should be staples in the setlist, not played on special occasions. :(

I saw Muse at the Doncaster Dome in 2001, it cost £12.50 and they played all of the above with no backing tracks or ridiculous stage props. It was absolutely awesome.

There's a reason why it was called 'The Resistance' tour. Whilst the new album was no Absolution or Origin of Symmetry there are still some great tracks such as Uprising, Resistance, MK Ultra, Unnatural Selection and the 3 Exogenesis tracks.

You've also got to look at it from the bands perspective, they are promoting their new album. They also don't want to be living in the past regardless of what the fans want.

I went to see them at wembley on the Saturday. They played Citizen Erased and Bliss.

Showbiz is 11 years old guys.

Saw them at old trafford they were just amazing.

Previously before that gig the best gig i ever went to was foo fighters at wembley (with haldf of led zepplin special guests)

I like all there albums but they are just ANOTHER level live

All of their albums are good. Most people just jump on the ZOMG RESISTANCE IS CRAP bandwagon. Of course it's all down to opinion but I believe there are only 3 bad tracks on The Resistance, those being Undisclosed Desires, Guiding Light and I Belong to You.

Most people believe OOS and Showbiz are their best albums but for me Absolution is better than both. Fury, Stockholm Syndrome, Time is Running out, Thoughts of a Dying Athiest, Hysteria, Butterflies and Hurricanes, The Small Print and The Groove are all amazing songs. Saying that, Origin of Symmetry is very very close.

Black holes and Revelations is by a LONG way my least favorite album of theirs. (despite KOC being an absolute classic)

Undisclosed Desires is an ok song actually, the opening is brilliant when they play it live.

OOS is easily better than the rest. While Absolution has some wicked songs, not a single song on that album could compare to New Born and Citizen Erased. Although Hysteria and SS come close! IMO of course

Undisclosed desires is okay yea but that's all, the song never gets any better.

Stockholm is a beast of a track, one of the most underrated ones is Fury though. The chorus in Fury is absolutely stunning, so moving. I also forgot to mention ruled by Secrecy on absolution, a stunning track, very emotional. Whilst OOS might have their best material, as a whole album Absolution reigns supreme.

Undisclosed Desires has grown on me, cant stand guiding light (except for solo) and i belong to you though.

Nearly all of the B-Sides are great anyway :p

Fury is superb, best B side and one of their finest songs!

In Your World, Dead Star, Agitated and The Groove are close behind

What I heard of Biffy was good, but we were late getting there, I actually liked Lily - she wasn't too bad, not the first time Biffy have supported them either - not really into them tbh.

TIRO is one of my favourite songs, don't know why people don't like it! This is brilliant!

I saw Muse at Wembley when it first opened (2004 I think), either I had better seats/was in a good spot then as the sound was amazing, but this time on both the fri and sat I thought the sound quality was poor. Friday we were sitting on the first or second level and sat we were standing. I think Wembley is too big.

Am not one of those people jumping on the band wagon - I actually like Neutron Star Collision ;) but Resistance really isn't a great album.

Whatever anyone says, they've all done pretty well for themselves, esp Matt who's now hooked up with Kate Hudson. Lol.
