Muse.

Why do you hate them now?

Because I want to see the band that I fell in love with years ago (but was never able to make it to one of their gigs until recently).

They just aren't that band anymore, and I missed them at their peak. Which I'm probably gutted about more than anything else.

Even someone balls deep into Matt Bellemy cannot tell me Neutron Star Collision is a good song.

Most people believe OOS and Showbiz are their best albums but for me Absolution is better than both. Fury, Stockholm Syndrome, Time is Running out, Thoughts of a Dying Athiest, Hysteria, Butterflies and Hurricanes, The Small Print and The Groove are all amazing songs. Saying that, Origin of Symmetry is very very close.

Fury was never on Absolution unless you live in Japan, you naughty downloader.

One of my favourite bands, been a fan ever since I heard New Born played on MTV2 when it came out, went out and bought Showbiz & OOS the next day :D.

All their albums are good, but OOS is the one that stands out for me, just sounds more raw overall and expressive if you know what I mean.. it's one of my favourite albums ever, favourite so far this century for sure.
Many of their songs, when I heard them for the first time, I felt that I was listening to a new kind of music, especially with songs like citizen erased and stockholm syndrome.

Since absolution muse seem to have focused more on reflecting on life and current events with their music, rather than purely expressing emotion, states of the mind and all that.
I can see why some are not as keen on their more recent stuff, but I think it must be hard for any artist to change their approach and try something different, and even harder to succeed while doing it.

Well I'm not "balls deep into Matt Bellemy" but I think Neutron Star Collision is a great song :) and I'm disappointed they didn't play it live :(. I've been a big fan of Muse since I first heard Sunburn on the radio when it was released all those years ago. This was my 4th Muse gig, the second time at Wembley, and they weren't as good as they have been before. I love all their albums but the last one just doesn't seem as energetic as previous ones and this comes across when they play live.

They played it on the Friday at Wembley, much to my chagrin. :( I disliked I belong to you more, though... meh.

As said before though, Exogenesis was epic. Loved the UFO. :D

What about Eternally Missed as a B-side? Granted the "rusty one" version has a better solo but it's still a pretty awesome tune. :D

I saw them on the Sat night at Wembley and Biffy played a really decent set. I've never seen them live before but have been listening to quite a lot of their stuff recently and I really enjoyed it played a good variety of tracks.

I think the shows how they are now are just Muse. They have always liked to create spectacle and be self-indulgent the only difference now is that they have the means to go outrageous. Anyone that has been in to them for a while should surely know and be able to see it as with each tour they are finding new ways to go even further and who can blame them.

I enjoyed the set they played too, I was amazed Citizen Erased even got a look in that alone made my night :D The rest was as to be expected was gutted they didn't play Popcorn mind. :(

Sad that I missed Biffy, but ah well, seeing them up here in Aberdeen in November anyway, so all is not lost. I still have no idea how the hell they thought Lily Allen would be a good support act for a rock gig though... ah well, water under the bridge now anyway. I don't think I'll be going back to Wembley though, I'll stick to gigs up here in Scotland unless there's something super-special that won't be coming this way.

I saw it behind the stage and thought "wtf is that..!" - absolutely amazing gig. :D
