God is this thread still goin:D

The pig is seen as an unclean animal in many scriptures not just in the koran, we are forbidden from eatin it, simple as that, just as we are forbidden from any intoxication etc, its one of the `rules` that we adhere, i dont really have a problem with it as there are many other things i can eat;)

These guys should simply quit, kicking up a fuss over nowt, its not exactly skilled work, so im sure they can get another job, prolly trying to pull as fast one to get some cash out of it.

There are More Jedi in Britain than Sikhs, but that also is not relevant.

The discussion was about whether an employee has a right to harm the progress & expansion of the company they work because of their religious beliefs.

Personally, I think that they should find another job if it conflicts with their beliefs.

The emplorer ultimately should have the right to change the way their company operates.

Maybe if it is a small company and they value their staff, they might consider their views, if it is a large company it would be comical trying to argue.

However, I believe it would set a dangerous precedent if this went to court and the employee won the case.

I don;t think it is necesarily right for the employee to have to find different work due to the change. But, the nature of their job is NOT changing, only some of the proiducts they sell are, and as they are accepted products to sell, they have no legal right to object.

ok,

a bit of an aside...

in LEVITICUS it states that you cannot eat the swine (pig)

therefore if one is a christian, you should also not be eating pork, ham etc.

11:7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be
clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to
you.
11:8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye
not touch; they are unclean to you.
11:9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters:
whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and
in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
11:10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in
the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living
thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination
unto you:
11:11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not
eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in
abomination.

The New Testament was to replace the old testament.
If you have actually read it, you will know this.

Christian Theology, I am very qualified to discuss about, having spent 3 years studying it, it also helped me lose my faith, and I've been much happier since then ;)
