Owned a mk2 1.8 until a few years ago, loved it. 100% reliable and so much fun.
Drove it nearly everywhere with the roof down, including light snow. Only weather I found too bad was heavy rain and fog.
Still miss it. If we ever do need a second car, I really fancy another.

fit interior
Fit diff and new half/prop shafts
fit body panels

had the white one for 11 years now, was first car.

Well I picked it up last night. Not the greatest photo ever but it's a start. Still getting used to driving it after being used to a diesel Giulietta. Must’ve stalled it about 5 times through trying to drive it in the same way!

Its so tiny it even makes the Mini over the road look big!

Been meaning to put some pictures up for a while, so today I went for a drive with my brother.

I know it's in desperate need of a clean...

^^ Your RS is lovely! Is that a Vindi spoiler? I've got one and some OEM side skirts in the loft - I think I should get around to fitting them!

What size are your Ultralites?

Thanks.

Yeah I believe it is one of Vindi's ducktails, was on the car when I bought it though so can't be 100% The skirts, front splitter, and spoiler really add to the appearance. Get up in your loft a dig them out :)

The wheels are 15x6.5, et 35 bought from here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ULTRALITE..._tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&hash=item3a73fcc189: . The tyres are 195/50/15 AD08s

There are some really good looking 5s in this thread! I hope mine looks half as good when done!I have a Mazdaspeed trunk spoiler I am currently figuring out how to fit, and ill order Mazdaspeed front and rear spoilers once my OEM rear light transplant is over with - this is a major headache right now.

Just got some more parts through the post today, so will be replacing my failed wsaher pump and fitting new HT leads this week :)

Best colour on a 5 imo :D

Has your car been under sealed? If it hasn't then get it done or do it yourself. I did mine over a 3 day weekend with Muffin on my drive, most of the time was spent prepping and drying time. Mk2s also suffer from chassis rail rot from water getting into the engine bay via the bonnet/ light cluster seal.

I used this kit:
http://www.rejel.com/rejel-store/categoryid/29/list/1/level/a/productid/9555.aspx

But needed more underbody wax imo, so would go for this instead:

http://www.rejel.com/rejel-store/categoryid/29/list/1/level/a/productid/9410.aspx

Wasn't that messy, unlike wax oil. Bought overalls/gloves and masks from regel too.

you will also need arch liner clips, if you are as heavy handed as me:

Took a 200 mile round trip drive today through the desert and mountains, it was about 38/40 degrees.. top down all the way baby! It was a bit warm though. On the first proper run since I bought it the car performed pretty well, although I did get left behind by the other guys I was with lol.. A lot of S2000s, Camaros, M6 and some other stuff.

fun morning nevertheless, and at least I didnt hit the central reservation like the red S2k did :D

Question or you guys with MK2s..

My car has the wrong front indicator bulbs and holders, and they are not working properly.. I ordered new holders and bulbs from mazda US, but the bulbs are not compatible.. they have off-set pins rather than straight. My car has a bodged rear light holder on the front which uses the push-fit bulbs.

The manual says I need #1157NA.. which is a bayonet with straight pins (180 degree) at different heights.. These will fit the OEM holders, but I cant find them anywhere other than US ebay vendors..

Do your UK cars have the same bulbs? if so, where do you get them?

i can find http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GE-1157NA-Turn-Signal-Indicator-Bulb-/160998855891?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item257c4794d3 But the shipping to the UK is rather high, and I cant import them to the UAE (lol)

cheers
