You wanna see the HDX18 then!!... Thats HAWOOOOOOGE!!!...

I nearly got the 18 instead of the 16.. but couldn't justify the extra £200 for 2.4 inches of screen and 180Gb of extra storage (its got 2x 250Gb drives on the HDX18)..

I'm quite happy with my 16" 1080p screen and 320Gb of storage!.. I've about 130Gb left (lots of Music, Photos and Video!!).. if it starts getting too low I'll get an external drive and shift some stuff over!!..

Should have mine delivered on Mon,also ordered a 320gb Seagate 7200.3 to pop in.

Oooooo.. Let us know how it goes!!.. plus let us know if there is a spare drive bay in there!!.. as the HDX18 (as I said above) had 2x250Gb SATA drives and its not really that much bigger!!..

Yepski!... its there.. looks like an OEM sticker but its Vista Home Premium 64bit..

I've been thinking about buying my 1st laptop so I actually spend a bit of time in the same room as my wife!

My bro works @ HP, so I can get one for £745.

Might be a bit OTT as I only play WoW, but thinking it should last a while?

...Best to remove the battery then if you always run on power.

Got mine today and put in the 7200rpm drive,was a doddle took less than 5 mins.

Pretty impressed with HP support,i rang last week as my optical drive had a crack in the bezel preventing it from opening so they said they'll send a new drive out to me asap.

I think this is the drive:

I took the drive out and managed to align the bezel where the crack was which was preventing it from opening and it works fine now but atleast i'll have a new optical drive as backup.

I've no idea what the difference between the 1005EA and the 1010EA is.. :confused:

I looked into it when I was deciding which to buy (I was looking at the HDX18 at that time!!) but still can't see what's different!!..

Its a Cooooool Laptop anyway!! :cool:

The HDX models only come in 16" and 18.4" flavours!... but there are 15" and 17" laptops from HP that are just as nice... they are a little less specced (no TV, 32bit Vista etc..) and they don't have the 'Pin Striping'... but they're still spanking machines!!!

Thanks for all the info by email Simian.

Landed a nice timely bonus at work and decided to go with the 18.4" upgraded version (P8600+1024mb dedicated graphics+?).

This will be delivered on Monday. £1299!
