My first attempt at building a pc... does it look ok ?

Blurgh if you dont have a fan in the top of the case turn your heatsink counter-clockwise so it is blowing at the back of the case and not the top, that way the rear fan behind will shift a lot of that heat out the back.
Should drop your temps a fair bit id say.

i can only have the cpu cooler fan on the top or bottom of the heatsink unfortunatley, so it either blows upwards or downwards

If you are using a single HDD and there are more spaces on top, I would suggest move the HDD higher. The HDD putting near the bottom of the case are easier to get dust and thus accumulate more heat.

Hope this helps!

so i decided to take out the side panel fan and fit it at the top of the case above the heatsink and now my temps have got worse (46-54+ when idle).

should my idle temps be constantly changing from say 46-54 ? cause ill be watching the temps and then it will suddenly go from say 48 and jump upto 52 or something and then it will go back down to 47 or whatever. seems kinda random

im honestly at a loss as to what to do.

i can't believe that 2 extra fans + cable management hasn't changed a single thing, in-fact if anything it seems slightly worse.

oh and in response to the other suggestion

my hd is as high as it will go

It may be due to gaps between the heat pipes and the bottom plate on the Titan, although I cant say for sure as I dont own one.
Anyone with a Fenrir wanna chime in here?

iv tried to fill out the gaps and i've tried multiple ways of applying thermal paste but none of it seems to make any difference... the end result is always idle temps of around 45-55 degrees.

i even tried turning the speed of the fans up and instead of cooling things it made my idle temps worse (around 58ish)

Iv gone from idle temps of 42 in a smaller case with no cable management and 1 fan to 55 in a larger case with cable management and 3 fans.

i give up, everything i do makes things worse :(

edit: one thing i haven't been doing is using a cleaning fluid everytime i re-apply thermal paste, instead iv just wiped it off with a cloth. Is this likely to make a big difference to temps ?
