My first hour with my VTX 7970

Just to prove I wasn't going insane with my returns, I recorded some videos before I RMA'd them. Now on youtube for your listening pleasure. Let me know if you think it's acceptable!

Does the Asus 7950 TOP suffer from coil whine ? Would have made a topic on it but Going to purchase in about a months time (decorating, so new PC is all wrapped up :()

I have become a bit of a silence freak, and hate how loud (fan) the asus 6850 gets when playing something like BF3 Single Player (I play single player games with speakers :D)

I know the DCUII Tops are by far the quietest, but coil wine would **** me off more than the fan noise!

My Gigabyte sounds exactly the same but only if i stress test it over 1250Mhz core, and no where near that loud.

For me that just means 1250Mhz is to high, at 1225Mhz its perfectly silent, so i run it at 1200Mhz.

Got my new VTX 7970 installed, all running fine, just thought I would check the default clock settings in MSI afterburner, which should be Core Clock: 1050MHz.
MSI afterburner and GPUZ are both report Core Clock: 925MHz ?????

It should be 1050 core and 1425 mem at stock. If not try powering off and flicking the bios switch to the other position as it could have a stock 7970 bios in one position and the VTX X-edition in the other like mine...
