Fitted my first mod to the 530i :)

Proper HID Xenon headlight system - groupbuy on the BMWland forums. Went in reasonably well, actually, but I've yet to drive in the dark with them. They look so cool, shame the picture is rubbish (In real life you can actually still see the second angel eye bit which the picture obscures).

Only problem I have now is that it makes the rest of the light setup look really, really yellow so I've got to sort that out. Might get some Phillips VisionPlus like I had in the Mondeo if they do them for the E39.

Well happy with my lighting now - Xenon Angel Eyes up front, CELIS LED taillights at the back :D

Edit: Yes, it is self levelling, yes, it has headlight wash system :p

Your car rocks dude, I never got round to posting in the "My New Car" thread, but nice purchase. Always did like that shape of 5 series.

Why would that matter?

Looks better now, did you align the lights again?

Like you say the rest of the bulbs looks gash you might have to swap out for LED's cause even better bulbs will look yellow in comparison.

Any pics of the LED rears?

Oddly enough no, not really :( Just took one now but its very dark and I suck at the photography so it came out a mess.

You can sort of see them in this picture:

By law they have to be self levelling and have washers out of the factory I believe.

Yeah - i've got to get some LED sidelamps as even my silvervisions look yellow next to them:

Indeed, however aftermarket systems are exempt from those rules, seems stupid to me but otherwise fitting an aftermarket kit would cost a fortune.

Chav.... ye v nice, need some white angels though, especially when you leave them on for 23hours of every day because they look so cool :D

Looking good Fox. ;)

Just realised that Nick is from bmwland as well! It's certainly not a 'chav' or 'barryboys' mod, as it actually greatly improves your vision at night, and its not like you have 10000K bulbs or something.

Although, you don't have self levellers in the proper 'xenon' sense. But they and headlamp washers are only required for factory xenons, not retrofitted ones despite what people might tell you.

Looking good

looks cool mate, there is a similar group buy on SN that I'm shortly going for :)

Hang off a bit, mine are at heathrow, I'll let you know what they're like.. ;)

What are my self levellers then?
Just the normal halogen ones, like I have on my e46? They 'level' when you first turn the car on. Proper xenon ones have sensors on the suspension that compensate for more load etc which means you don't have the manual adjustment wheel in the car next to the light switch. Do you have that manual leveller on your car?
