My first modification

My list of mods:

Full ICE install
Stainless Exhuast/Gruppe-M induction
AC Shnitzer mirrors
Possibly some 18's but I quite like the standard wheels
250bhp remap.

Only super-urgent mods are the ICE and the induction/exhuast.. plenty of time for the rest.

no emfree mirrors? :D

and exhaust for the win :)

Me too, but as someone else on this forum said - if you can't beat them join them. I personally have some Philips Visonplus, good bulbs but obviously nowhere near the brightness of HIDs. £200 cheaper, though.
The group buy HIDs on bmwland were only 120-130ukp. :)

looks good , make sure you aim them down though as you need the proper internal element, what come with the genuine xenon bmw lights , also did you get the lcm flashed to stop the low beam failure or have u put a resistor/fuse kit onto the feeds?

also to find out if you lights are self leveling , just watch your lights when you turn your ingnition on and off (while lights are on) and see if they move up and down for a second or two ( they calibarate )

certainly on the M5, the Gruppe-M kit is generally regarded as looking pretty and making more noise, but not giving more power. dont know if its the same on the 530. just FYI :)

That is not the same kind of self levelling, all E39's will do that as far as I know (my E46 does and it hasn't got self levelling). The only way he will have self levelling is if the car was fitted with xenons from the factory. As I explained above the ones with the self levelling don't have the manual level adjustment wheel on the dash.

While they may improve night vision of the car's driver, they blind other road users. Does anyone else find that?
Yup, even up on my bike I'm regularly blinded by stupidly bright lights. God knows what it's going to be like when I'm in a low car again, I haven't driven it since before these became popular.

What's this yellow lark everyone is going on about? I can't see anything yellow, they look white to me

No-one noticed how they change colour when you are off axis? I think that is why the reflection looks green.

Oh i dont need any more power I just want to chav about with some cool noise :p

Looking good.. all you need is to replace that hamster weel in the front with a proper engine and you're sorted ;) Your angels look awfully bright to me, is it just the photography or are they not BMW parts?

Must be the photography, they are factory lights.

Another thing is... HIDs that have a blue tinge to them, sometimes distract my attention in the rear view mirror as it's the same colour that emergency vehicles use. Not sure if it's just me :p but it can be annoying sometimes..

Full ICE install - Good man.
Stainless Exhuast/Gruppe-M induction - Well, if you really must....
AC Shnitzer mirrors - Not to my taste, but, its your car....
Possibly some 18's but I quite like the standard wheels - No! No! No! - you should be happy with what you have, its a far better setup than 18's.
250bhp remap. - Tired of 231BHP already?

I'm a bit puzzled mate, I thought your car had Xeon's already ??? - whats the fuss?

Sorry, ment 600k :P
You typed 600K again........how can anyone be that stupid :P

Fox, you will need white LED sidelight bulbs, bluevision ones still look very very yellow beside HIDs. White LEDs look just right.

As for blinding other people, only on 4X4s or if badly setup (which is bad with halogens anyway). BMW X5s are by far the worse 4x4 blinding-death-light culprits
