my first patch panel !

Sorry for resurecting an old thread - but how much did you guys with Neat Patches pay for them? I've only found one site selling them at over a ton!
Waiting for my normal supplier to get back to me, but I would really like them cheaper than that!

Not sure how much we pay for them, they're sub-£20 I think but we buy in bulk (30+).

We also get them from a guy in the UK, though our purchase manager hates buying them because he says the guy (who apparently is the only UK based seller) is a bit of a wierdo - "Oh it's you is it, wanting to buy some Neat Patches are you...". :p

I'll try and find a number for you :)

yup its bad, in total we've 8-9 42U cabs that i've been re-doing and so far i've filled 2 massive crates full of cables that were too long.

Shows just 3 of the racks after a good few 2hr sessions of untangling! Still a long way to go unfortunately.

good effort.. lol

reminds me of our 3 full height racks before we spent a whole weekend repatching.

Patch panel tidiness has a halflife, you should take another photo in 4 weeks time, another in a few months...

so true. i blame the network pixies..

Working as a data engineer, we do the re patching of cabinets over weekends and to have the downtime from friday afternoon to monday morning you have a strict time deadline to have it all patched in and working.

Can be quite stressful when you have it all patched in to find something does not work. The make over is worth it though! The state of some cabinets is a disgrace to some companies, all that expensive equipment...

We have become quite skilled when it comes to this stuff finding easier methods to it all. Best way i see is patching schedule, cut the rj45 ends off and pull the mass of cables away, downside to this is you have to trace em all...

Will post pictures of the home office cabinet i done today in fact :-)
