My hair transplant journey

Well I've just booked an FUE procedure in Turkey for mid October. Can't wait now I'm taking the plunge!

Would have done it sooner if I wasn't waiting for the meds to work, which they've now done sufficiently for clinics to want my business.

Here's a timeline of my medication results so far if interested:

There is a chap who occasionally appears as a panellist on TalkTV usually to talk about property, a bit like Phil Spencer, Sarah Beeney etc. Cant remember his name.

Anyway, a few months back, you could clearly see he has had a recent transplant. I remember thinking kudos to him to come on a live talk show, when his scalp still looked raw from the pinprick incisions. Anyway the said guy appears a few months on, the transformation is very good, none of the brillo pad look, it looks healthy and natural. Ironically, I walked past in person, purely coincidental the other day.

The guy has gone grey at the sides, and the transplanted hair on his head is his 'younger' natural colour, no issue in the grand scheme of things since his transplant really worked!

@Participant - Good for you and remarkable progress!

That's a good improvement.

Wow thats amazing improvement.

Can i ask what path your medication journey has gone down? I would say im kind of between your 6 month and 9 month position and am strongly considering starting down a medication route to prevent further loss and hope for some regrowth as well.

**Edit**

Oral finasteride and topical minoxidil for 8 months, then moved to oral dutasteride and topical minoxidil.

Generic tablets as cheap as I can find rather than branded Propecia.

Nevermind just saw this!

My brother is really balding and I have an almost perfect head of hair. I've been on Dutasteride since I was 30 and I'm 39 now. I would love to know what it would be like if I didn't take it.

Guess some of us just lucked out with the hair genes. I've had a 10" mohawk for the past year but have started to grow my hair long. In the month since I last shaved my sidewalls I have grown a good inch of hair.

Ive just started taking Minoxidil and Finasteride tablets again. I noticed i was thinning and receding quite a lot about 2 years ago and was very close to actually having a transplant but decided against it and went on tablets. I felt like i had really good results after 6 months of taking them and it looked as though my hairline was thickening out. Because I was quite transient for a year afterwards I never got the chance to carry on with the treatment but now I am back I've just started again. I've also got some Dutasteride as I've been reading its supposed to be good to take one of these once every 1-2 weeks instead of the Fin, so will be keeping a close eye on how my hair develops again over the next year!

Im 35 have been balding since early 20's. where I do have hair is still really thick, i was tempted by a HT but UK prices are very high and im not sure about a turkish procedure. I may opt for tablets and using regain and see how I am 12 months down the line. Can anybody advise which tablets they have used and had good results? Im a bit skeptical when googling for it.
