My Lian-Li PC-7 arrived today. It came with two 120mm blue-led fans and an 80mm blow hole at the top :)

The case was supposed to arrive today but when I went down to reception (I live in student accommodation) the office was closed with a note saying "Closed due to illness." I was a bit annoyed, checked the citylink status who said it was delivered, I went back down and the office was open - go figure.

Anyway, this is what the case looked like fresh out of the box :p

Just after the mobo going in:

After everything was put together:

I also bought an ultra quiet 80mm akasa amber fan to go at the top which I've got blowing air out of the case.

The temperatures of my case have dropped to:

Mobo: 31oC (88oF)
CPU: 32oC (90oF)
WDC: 26oC (79oF)

which has made my flatmate jealous :D

The case is very quiet all apart some whining coming off my harddrive which doesn't want to go away. :(

Other than that I'm very impressed with the case!

Nice aint they :D

Are you running the case fans at 12v? If so then I must be really easily annoyed by noise :/ Running mine at 7v and they still seem a little loud.

Just plugged straight into the molex's atm. I'm assuming it's 12v if that's the case. Noise isn't too bad, it's at least half the noise of my old case which was driving me mad! :p

I had a blue-led akasa fan squeeling away in my old case.

Oh, almost forgot; a photo of the front:

:D

I'm considering getting some flush bezels in the near future.

The harddrive is either only now audable over the rest of the system, or its something else, not always the case!

Nice case aswell :D

hehe i quite like the silver. my pc7 arrived today too and i like most people of late got the 2x120mm fan model woot. put some ambers in straight away and spent way too long transferring all my stuff into it (i dont have my motherboard manual with me at uni so i had to do it from memory which happens to be appalling). everything seems to be working okay though, apart from the first time i booted up i realised i forgot to plug in one of my fans lol and also i havent got the LEDs in the right places so they arent working. meh ill sort it out tomorrow i guess

its still quite loud but i realised thats because i have like a 3 year old enermax 350w psu whurring away. ah well

hehe All these PC7's around, we'll have enough for a PC7 convention at this rate - lol.

Yewen will no doubt correct me if I'm wrong but as I understand it you've got a PC-007 due to the fans. I got the plain PC-7 ( still silver ) with normal black fans. Wasn't too worried though as they where instantly replaced with ambers :).

Temps (at 100% load - my dual core 3800+ being used for folding ).

CPU - 53degC - touch high but not worryingly so.
MB - 28degC - nice and cool.

Might get a Arctic 64 soon :).

Nice PICs there and nice case to. Now I want a Lian-Li PC-7 even more, but maybe in black

Thing is, does the silver one look good with black drives, i.e. black floppy and black optical drive? See, have an old Cooler Master Centurion which is silver with some black drives, I think it looks good and thats not just my own opinion ...

Lovely case. I think I'm going to move to Lian-Li this summer, to replace my 5 year old Plusview 1000.

I've had my fun with snazzy cases and side windows... now I want something classy. Choosing a new case in hard though, there's so many nice ones. :(

Oh, nice cables *snigger* :p

It doesnt look that big though. I want a 70 instead of the 7 but the price tag is just amazingly high! Is there a lot of room between the PSU and the CD Rom.

I have a Antec Lanboy with a hiper 580w PSU and i cant fit my cd rom in properly because of the hiper.

It probably would look okay, because the silver PC-7 has a black strip along the top of the front. The only problem is that a major selling point of the case is that it looks flush and can be made very simplistic by buying additional bezels. If you had black it wouldn't look quite right (just my opinion), but you can always buy silver bezels to go over the top if you needed...

I'll play around with the ribbon and cables in time ;)

Not too much, there's enough room to fiddle about but pretty much no room to hide away the cables. I resorted to tucking some cables in the spare optical trays which I'm planning on filling with a soundcard and fan controller in time. It is possible to hide a few cables down the side, and also to tape a few to the top or just outside the PSU. The PSU also slides out backwards so if you need room, it's easily moved. You have about 30cm I'd say between the PSU and ROMs and there is a blowhole above there for a fan so it might be a bit cramped. The case is big enough though, kinda tricky to keep tidy :p

I'll take a picture of the space in a bit and upload here for you :)

It is a PC007 but the differences are so small its not really worth mentioning; still in the same series of cases.

Yeh the PC7 userbase on OcUK is very high, partly due to me but it was a inevitability, when a case this good is this price and so much better than the competition you know it is going to kick off!

The Hiper PSU would fit fine in a PC7+II case, the case is a fair bit bigger than the lanboy where it counts.

Just use a pair of Lian-li silver bezels. Add to the sleak look and allow black DVD's on a silver system :).

Tut not much room

*posts pic of smaller case with better cable management*

Keep in mind theres 4 case fans and a CCFL in there too :p

Although it doesnt matter too much with the PC7, no window.
