Good spot, you don't need a fog light in Japan. Because mine is a UK car they ship it over as a GSR then fit the exhaust and loads of other things including a new rear bumper with the fog light so it'll pass a MOT.
 
I'm not sure, I'll grab a few pictures when the weather gets better. Would a decent body shop be able to do that?

My Evo IX FQ320 was a UK car and didn't have a fog light in the rear bumper as per yours.

But I do know that an Evo VIII with no rear wipe is an Evo 260 and not a GSR.

No worries, I like the look of MR lights, probably pricey though.

Why did you get rid of your Evo out of interest?
 
Mainly as it was a bit of a lemon (head needed rebuilding, AYC pump went, some bodywork issues), but also that I had to drive it at ten tenths to get any enjoyment out of it, which for the public road was becoming stupid & dangerous.
 
Fair enough, I'm not looking forward to fixing any issues that might come up but nothing's went wrong with it yet!
 
Like your ramps - might have to build a set myself. I hate using scissor jacks etc. I'm a new evo owner too after picking up an Evo X FQ-330 SST :D
Not ready for pics yet though as I want to get the alloys refurbished first ;)

Odd that it's got GSR in the log book, I thought GSR's were the regular Japanese cars with 276bhp.

A guy I play football with had one of these but never actually got a ride in it, he had it mapped with various other mods, and had a dyno graph showing 370 from the racing line in Halifax.

Yep 370 is about right with an 8 turbo.. 400 is considered the target with standard internals .. With an e9 series 80 turbo and cams you will be looking at 400-420.. Which is where i am heading to start with...
 
I am aiming for around the same figure, its easily achievable with mine, I just need a boost controller and to turn it up to 1.2. I told myself i'm not going to chase numbers :rolleyes:
 
Nice car. I toyed with the idea of getting a 260 at one point. I sold my evo 8 as the 6 speed box is rubbish compared to the 5 speed.
In the end I just bought another evo 5 though. Had it nearly 6 years now :)
