25k in 3dmark vantage with everything at stock.

thanks guys ! found somewhere that i can get the lian li tower from today so will be shooting out to go grab that soon, will post more pics when thats all done.

One other thing... in 3D Mark Vantage, my CPU score was really high... like i mean higher than the guy who has the fastest system in the world lol, he was running a i7 extreme to at 4gig, mine is the oem crappy version (not extreme) and is only at 2.67 how is this possible ?

will run again and take a s/s

Nice to see it all set up and running nicely have you though about watercooling later in the year?
Why are you using google chrome It's built for low powered machines, you should be using firefox since it runs very fast if you have a decent amount of ram like you.

In my experience Google Chrome is quicker than Firefox, but now I've got my new pc up and running I'll take your advice and give Firefox another try now I have my 6 gig of ram.

Is it worth giving Safari a try? Seems to do well in browser benchmarks

Lovely wallpaper. B&Q? :)

LOL yeah it made my eyes go funny at first, habitat is where its at, its only on one wall so its not like its all around me lol, £80 a roll though :o defo gonna take some highlighting pens to it and coulour that shizz in though lol

In terms of the mouse pad arm rest, IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE imho. Get involved mate, so comfy for long gaming sessions/pr0n browsing :D

turbduck lovely build and well done on spending your money on what you want to buy.

Let's get that clock speed up and see what the system can do.

Would love to see some water cooling in there though

Will be cranking up the clocks as soon as i get my lian li case, looking into going and picking up one today second hand though... but cba to wait till tuesday lol.

In terms of water cooling... will get involved with that when i get some more dough and know how and what to do (never installed water cooling before)

has anyone got any experience with the crucial SSD's in raid 0 ? ive got mine with a stip size of 64 which i think was a bit to ambitious and my pc is now on go slow lol, any recommendations or which stip size to use and can i change it now even though i have an OS installed ?

Many thanks !

thanks mate, appreciate it, was a bit of a nightmare but wouldn't be any fun if it was easy :D now time to get tweaking, going to read up on overclocking and then give it a crack.

depending on how that goes ill prob get some watercooling sooner or later too.

yeah dude it is huge, perfect for what i needed and still room for expansion later on and would be a nice case to watercool. I like the PSU at the top of the case as this helps with the cooling.

Set the stripe size to the lowest possible (at least thats what i read...)

spreading the slow writes to both disks.

The crucial SSDs are not the best though, you should have bought either the Intel one or the Vertex OCZ ones. They are more expensive and have the extra performacen to show for it.

Thanks Trunks, i have the stripe size set to 64 at the moment but my pc seems to be running really really slow on boot up and such even when just opening my computer etc it takes minutes to load, im not sure if this is due to the stripe size but it is the only thing i have done different in comparison to my other builds, when i set up raid 0 the default value was 128, i might give that a go instead if i can't find out what is causing this...

In terms of getting the vertex... i did want these but i had already spent enough at this point and figure i can always get these later on and add them to my raid array.

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated as always !
